For UG programs, applicants should have completed their 10+2 education, while for PG programs, a Bachelor's degree is required. Admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs is determined by the candidates' ranks in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) examination. For PG programs, selection is based on the scores obtained in the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET).

HITECH boasts a dedicated placement cell known as the Corporate Relations Cell, responsible for coordinating final placements and summer internships for students. The college organizes aptitude tests, group discussions, and mock interviews to familiarize students with the recruitment process, ensuring they are well-prepared in advance. With an impressive track record, our students have secured positions in multinational companies, corporations, and public sector undertakings (PSUs).

In 2018, the college successfully placed 305 students, a slight decrease from the 377 students placed in 2017. Major recruiters during these placement drives included Amazon, Infosys, Cognizant, Capgemini, and Tech Mahindra, among others.
