Iqra Education Society’s H. J. Thim College of Arts and Science was established in 1991 in the Mehrun area of Jalgaon City. The college has been functioning for more than 30 years and has covered many milestones in its path of progress. Being solely Muslim Minority College in the Jalgaon district, “Thim” is also the only English Medium Arts and Science Graduate and Post Graduate college in the Khandesh region. The college is justifying its existence through the implantation of undergraduate and post graduates courses in Arts and Science streams. Apart from the specialized courses various diplomas and certificate courses run under NCPUL. On the college campus, MANUU (Hyderabad) and YCMOU Distance Learning centers are running. While over the years the college has created an excellent educational platform for minority students. The college students won gold medals and merit positions at University examinations in various subjects.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The college has a well-equipped library, with the facility of a reading room. The library is having a sufficient collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, periodicals, monthly news magazines, and newspapers. The library aims to develop reading habits among the students. The total number of books available in the library is 19,777 worth.

Iqra Education Society provides hostel facilities for the girl students only. The Hostel building is beside the college campus. This facility is available for the girl students studying in college.

The Gymkhana and Sports committee of the college comprises dedicated teachers and a Director of Physical Education to fulfill the needs of the students for various sports activities. The students participate in various sports at Intercollegiate, University, State, and National level and win medals and trophies in different sports activities.

The students of the college can avail of the internet facility provided through the Department of Information and Technology from 11:00 A.M. to 04:00 P.M.
