Residential Accommodation:
The University offers to lodge to college students reading in specific departments on the college campus. Residences (Boy’s Hostel, Girl’s Hostel 01 & Girl’s Hostel 02) placed at its important campus are inside taking walking distance from the educational wing. There are seventy-six rooms in every Girl’s hostel having a consumption-ability of ninety-four college students and there are a hundred and forty-four rooms in Boy’s hostel having a consumption-ability of 288 college students.

Computer Facilities
University Computer Centre offers various offerings to all college members, staff, and college students of University Campuses. With the commissioning of the University-extensive community, the Computer Centre is in a unique role to serve the University for all its IT needs. This center facilitates excessive velocity net facility, excessive overall performance computing facility, placement tests, education centers, trendy servers, garage, and diverse superior utility software.
Computer Centre helps the University extensive one Gbps fiber-optic network that connects all of the educational departments, hostels, libraries, constructing blocks, and different significant centers. Admission 2024-25
Candidates are required to apply online for admission. For B.Tech, applicants should have completed 10+2 in the science stream with a minimum of 50% marks. Admission to B.Arch is based on the NATA entrance exam. Candidates applying for B.Arch should have passed the 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject and a minimum of 50% marks. Admission to B.Tech is based on the JEE Main entrance exam.
For B.Tech (Lateral), candidates should have completed a Diploma or B.Sc. with at least 45% marks from a recognized university. Admission to B.Pharma (Lateral) is based on a Diploma in Pharmacy with a minimum of 45% marks.
For postgraduate courses, candidates should have a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline. Admission to MBA is based on CMAT scores, and the minimum eligibility is a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum duration of three years. Admission to MCA is based on inter-se-merit, and candidates should have passed a Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics at the 10+2 level or during graduation.
For MCA (Lateral), candidates should have completed BCA, B.Sc (IT/Computer Science) with Mathematics as a subject and at least 50% marks. Admission is based on inter-se-merit. For M.Tech, candidates should have a valid GATE score. Admission to M.Pharm is based on GPAT scores, and candidates should have passed B.Pharm with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university. For M.Tech, candidates should have completed B.E./B.Tech in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
For Ph.D. admission, candidates are selected based on a synopsis and a personal interview conducted by the university.

I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University offers B.Tech degree courses in five specializations, B.Pharm degree, B.Tech Lateral degree courses in five specializations, and B.Arch degree courses at the undergraduate level.

I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University offers MBA, M.Tech in four specializations, M.Sc. in four specializations, MCA, MCA (Lateral), M.A., and M.Arch degree courses at the postgraduate level.
Candidates applying for M.Tech courses should have a B.E. or B.Tech degree in the relevant branch or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks.
Candidates should be graduates (10+2+3) from any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks to be eligible for the MBA, MCA, and MCA (Lateral) programs.

I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University offers a Doctorate of Philosophy in ten specializations.
Candidates should have a master’s degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 60% or equivalent CGPA from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India to be eligible for the M.E. I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Admission Process 2024
Candidates seeking admission must apply online through the official website to participate in the admission process.
The merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Entrance Examination.
Provisional and final merit lists will be displayed on the official website. Applicants will be invited for the counselling process as per the merit list. Seat allotment will be based on the merit list and availability of seats. After seat allotment, candidates must report to the college for document verification and payment of academic fees.
Admissions to all the courses are strictly based on the merit of the entrance test either through Centralized Counselling Procedure or Institute level.

Punjab Technical University Freeship Schemes
The freeship scheme is available for students at IKGPTU Main Campus and its Constituent Campuses for the 2024-25 session.
This scheme benefits Parentless Students (PLS), Fatherless Students (FLS), Special Abled Students (SAS), and Low-Income Group Students (LIGS).
A fund of one crore rupees is reserved for this scheme, with preference given to students from Punjab. The order of preference for benefits is as follows:

A large number of students get placed every year at the IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar. The varsity invites a number of companies to its placements every year. To provide good placement opportunities to the students the university has tie-ups with many industrial associations. It has collaborations with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE Chandigarh), Jalandhar Management Association (JMA), etc. PTU Jalandhar placement cell prepares students for the placements by conducting seminars, workshops, mock interviews, etc. It acts as a bridge between companies and students.
