Facilities and Infrastructure

Hostel & Accommodation:

IIAS School of Management arranges accommodation for the students according to the needs of the students. IIAS student residences are located close to the campus, offer quality living, and are equipped with bathrooms, basic furniture, and furnishings. Boys and girls are accommodated in separate flats and a hostel manager is appointed to meet the needs of the students. IIAS Siliguri campus has a high-class luxury apartment exclusively for girls. It is attached right next to the campus for easy access and a safer environment for students. Due to limited availability, IIAS also helps students find off-campus accommodation in nearby apartments or pay for guest accommodation. Healthy meals are offered on campus in the hostel canteen with a regularly changing menu. F&B Training Room: All IIAS campuses run Hospitality/Hotel Management courses, so each location has a food and beverage training lab and a restaurant. HM students are taught setup, serving, ordering, bar management, cocktail making, and all other practical skills related to service and restaurant operations.

Library:

IIAS places a strong emphasis on learning beyond the course material using case studies, journals, and reference books. All campuses have modern libraries with a wide range of books, magazines, and the latest course-oriented magazines. The digital library offers a wide selection of 2500 books with about 800 titles, and 16 combinations of national and international newspapers and magazines that provide food for the brain. The library also has a Wi-Fi connection, a photocopier, a spacious reading area without distractions, a lending facility, and a very user-friendly automated library package - all this makes it easy to get information.

Front Office Room:

Just as the reception or lounge is the first point of contact for hotel guests, IIAS campuses also have their own representative laboratories where hospitality and tourism management students are trained. Students are trained in various subjects such as billing, guest relations, bell desk, concierge, communication, and guest handling.

Labs:

IIAS Siliguri offers a state-of-the-art language lab with BPO-level language training software. Language lessons are conducted audiovisually, and all systems are equipped with high-quality headphones and microphones. Students have a multimedia player to listen to audio and speech. Teachers control the student's computer through the teacher console and guide the student's learning. The purpose of the language lab is to get students to actively participate in language learning exercises and get more practice than would otherwise be possible in a traditional classroom..

Each IIAS campus has its own computer lab. All computers are equipped with the Windows operating system and are connected to the Internet. System administrators provide support to students during office hours in case of potential problems.

Housekeeping Room:

Hospitality/hotel management students also benefit from a management lab designed to model a hotel suite room. Various skills are taught to organize rooms, caress, and handle cleaning products like in a 5-star hotel or resort. These real-world exercises allow students to prepare for training and placement in larger facilities.

Sports Facilities:

A games room is also connected to the cafeteria, which offers students an ideal opportunity to relax during their free time. It is equipped with table tennis tables, tables, and other game facilities and offers a comfortable atmosphere where you can enjoy extracurricular activities.

Cafe/Mess Facility:

The cafeteria is located on the ground floor of the IIAS Siliguri campus and on the top floor of the IIAS Goa campus. Students and staff can enjoy a wide range of food at reasonable prices. The cafe's open floor plan is also a place for discussion and socializing. Meals are served at specific times each day.

Admission

IIAS believes in a liberal and cosmopolitan culture. All candidates must fill out the application form to get admission to IIAS. Admission to all courses is based on academic performance, personal interviews,s and aptitude tests.

Scholarships

IIAS offers scholarships to meritorious candidates with the aim of encouraging deserving students and academic excellence. The size of the grant and the number of recipients is at the sole discretion of the administration and board. IIAS is an equity college and thus prioritizes education over funding. Need-based scholarships are aimed primarily at good applicants whose primary criterion is financial need. Please note that several supporting documents are required for in-demand scholarships.

Placements

An internship at IIAS is just one meeting place to facilitate the exchange of information between students and industry. It is a platform of opportunities where companies are invited to recruit students with various fields and work experience. Prospective employers can conduct on-campus recruitment through a seamless registration, PPT, and selection process. Students attend presentations, are interviewed, and are recruited for full-time employment, part-time employment, internships, and industry exposure training.

Employers value the fact that graduates of this college have completed an intensive continuous personality development program and a technical development program. This ensures that they can face interviews with confidence. They have the right attitude, skills, and discipline and are ready to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry. Although students do not graduate until June, campus recruitment for final-year students begins in September of the previous year and ends in April.
