Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi, popularly known as IICT, has been set up by the Ministry of Textiles under the Government of India in 1998 with an initiative to encourage and brace textile, carpet, and other associated industries of India. IICT has since then become a truly functional institute in the year 2001 by launching a BTech (Carpet & Textile Technology) program, an exclusive degree course in Asia, which used to accept only 20 intakes but has been subsequently raised to 60.

The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) is an unrivaled institute throughout Asia and is affiliated with UP Technical University, Lucknow, and is recognized and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The unrivaled institute is also a prominent member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and is also acknowledged by Textile Institute, Manchester, UK.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The campus is protected from all types of pollution, offering a peaceful environment for research and studies spread over 10 acres of land, including state-of-the-art administrative buildings consisting of classrooms, labs, conference halls, libraries, design studios, museums, and workshops.

The college is designed with facilities such as separate Boys & Girls Hostels, Residences for the employees, Open Air Theatre, Playground, Electricity, and Water Distribution System. Other services and facilities are under development. The Institute also acquired 20 acres of land from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in Bhadohi for its second phase of expansion.

The institute has a separate Boys' Hostel namely "Swami Vivekanand Bhawan on the campus full of modern amenities such as a Television, a Common Room, a hygienic drinking water supply with a Water Cooler, and an Aquaguard, a mess, indoor games, well-furnished rooms with beds, etc

Library:

The library present at the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology has a good collection of books, journals, articles, and DVDs for the needs of both the students and professors. Auditorium:

An open theatre on the institute's campus is also available for the students to conduct different cultural activities, and quiz contests on occasions like Annual Day, Independence Day, Fresher Day etc.

The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, popularly regarded as IICT, was founded by the Ministry of Textiles under the Government of India in 1998. Since then the IICT has become a fully functioning organization in 2001 with the introduction of the B. Tech. (Carpet & Textile Technology) the program, a unique degree course in Asia, that acknowledged only 20 admissions but was eventually extended to 60.

The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology provides courses in four different modes Regular Courses, Distance Courses, Short term Courses, and Foreign Language Courses.

Scholarships
