IIIT Ranchi was founded and funded in the year 2016 by MHRD The Indian government. It is the Institute of Information Technology India (IIIT Ranchi) is one of the two recent Indian Institutes of information technology set up in 2016 by the Indian government to concentrate more on the area in Information Technology (IT). IIIT Ranchi is one of the most renowned colleges of higher education. It is also an independent technical Institute that was named by parliament the Institute of National Interest by the parliament in the year 2016.

The campus is situated close to Sirkha Toli, Kali Nagar, Namkum, Ranchi, and Jharkhand located on a 67-acre parcel of land. IIIT Ranchi is currently operating on a temporary campus at NIT Jamshedpur. The school is located situated in the western region of the city. It is located at the southernmost point in the State of Jharkhand.

Central Library

Around 26,000 printed books in diverse disciplines and subjects are stored in Jamshedpur's central library of NIT Jamshedpur. Admission Procedure

Candidates who want to be admitted to the B.Tech program are able to apply via Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. This is a national-level exam which is conducted twice per year. National Testing Agency (NTA) is the organization that conducts the exam online in January and in April. Once the test is passed the candidates will be invited to participate in centralized counselling which is administered by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
