Admission 2024-25
IIITDM Kancheepuram provides design and manufacturing-focused engineering education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, along with research-oriented doctoral programs.
Candidates are required to fill out the application form online on the official website. Admission to IIITDM Kancheepuram is solely based on All India Ranks (AIR), and state ranks are not considered for admission to IIITs.
For postgraduate admissions at IIITDM Kancheepuram, candidates will be selected through the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT) counseling process.
To be eligible for the Ph.D. program, candidates must clear the Departmental Admission Test (DAT). Selection for the Ph.D. program is based on academic records and performance in the test/interview conducted by the selection committee.
The minimum eligibility criteria require candidates to hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with valid GATE/UGC/CSIR NET/NBHM or equivalent scores.

IIITDM Kancheepuram Chennai B.Tech Admission 2024
IIITDM Kancheepuram offers a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program at the undergraduate level with specializations in 8 diverse fields. Eligibility for admission requires candidates to have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or an equivalent qualification.
Admission is based on candidates' performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, following the guidelines set by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Counseling for admission is conducted by JoSAA/CSAB for the respective academic year, with specific branch allocations determined during CSAB counseling.
IIITDM Kancheepuram Integrated Courses Admission 2024
In addition to the B.Tech program, IIITDM Kancheepuram offers a five-year Integrated program leading to a Dual degree of B.Tech + M.Tech. This Integrated program provides specializations in five distinct engineering fields. Eligibility criteria include the completion of the 10+2 final examination with PCM subjects or an equivalent qualification.
Admission to the Dual Degree program is determined based on candidates' performance in the JEE Main and compliance with the 10+2 guidelines. The counseling process for admission is conducted by JoSAA/CSAB for the respective academic year.
IIITDM Kancheepuram M.Tech and M.Des Admission 2024
At the postgraduate level, IIITDM Kancheepuram offers M.Tech and M.Des programs, with the M.Des program available in three distinct specializations. Eligible candidates for admission to the M.Tech or M.Des program should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master's degree in Science from institutions approved by AICTE/UGC/Government. Additionally, candidates must have a valid GATE score for consideration.
Final selections for the programs will be based on the GATE score and CCMT counseling.
M.Tech. Specializations:
- Smart Manufacturing: B.E./B.Tech. degree from AICTE/UGC recognized Engineering Colleges/universities with first class or 60% aggregate marks.
Documents required
- Marksheet/grade card and passing certificate from SSLC to the last qualification.
- Community Certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
- Authorized Doctor’s certificate describing the disability for PWD candidates.
- GATE score or UGC/CSIR NET/JRF/DAE-JEST or other fellowship awards.
