Under the aegis of the Public Health Foundation of India, the Indian Institute of Public Health-Hyderabad (IIPH-Hyderabad) commenced its activities on July 1, 2008.
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public-private initiative that has evolved collaboratively through consultations with several constituencies including Indian and international universities, state and central governments, several & bilateral agencies, and civil society groups.PHFI is an answer to the repair of the limited institutional capacity in India to strengthen the training, research, and development of policies in the field of public health.
The Public Health Foundation of India has awarded the Ph.D. Chamber Award for Excellence in Skill Development for the Year 2015 to Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh. Signature of Memorandum of Understanding with National Health Mission (NHM), Government of Madhya Pradesh for the training of 210 doctors in7 Regional Center Certification Course in Evidence-Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM) and Certification Course in Hypertension Management (CCMH).

To encourage students from socially and economically disadvantaged communities to develop their careers in public health, a P and G.The Health Scholarship Fund was established for the academic year 202122 under the auspices of the Public Health Foundation of India. The G Health Scholarship Fund has been established for successful MPH applicants program offered Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPH) à Gandhinagar, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Shillong et Bhubaneswar. The Emmes Scholarship Fund aims to encourage students to choose, pursue and advance careers and employment in the public health sector. This scholarship fund (full/half/part) will be available for students enrolling in Masterspublic health programs (MPH) in IIPHs (Delhi NCR, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Shillong, and Bhubaneswar).
The placement cell supports the placement process by identifying relevant career opportunities for those who are seeking placement assistance. The placement cell provides a timely update to the students about available opportunities in other organizations of relevance. Every year, the placement cell also organizes a professional development workshop for the students, which includes sessions on resume writing/cover letter writing/ interview skills/ email etiquettes/ group discussion, etc.
