IISER Pune Admission Process
Indian Institute Of Science Education And Research offers admissions at two levels: undergraduate and doctoral. IISER Pune admissions are offered to BS-MS dual degrees, Integrated Ph.D., and Ph.D. programs. IISER Pune admissions are offered in the sciences stream. IISER Pune admission process for BS and MS dual degrees is managed by the Joint Admissions Committee (JAC) which is headed by a chairman and members from the other six IISERs. Students can only get admission to BS and MS dual degrees through three channels of admission: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Basic Science Stream, JEE Advanced, and State and Central Board (SCB). KVPY channels- Students applying through this channel must have a KVPY fellowship, JEE Advanced- candidates applying through this channel must secure a rank within 10,000 in CRL; Common Rank List of JEE Advanced and State and Central Board channel- Aspirants applying through this channel must have passed 12th class in basic science streams and have to appear for IISER Aptitude Test.
Candidates applying for an Integrated Ph.D. must fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down by the institute and the same can be checked on the institute's official website- www.iiserpune.ac.in. An important point- applying for admissions and submitting the application form does not guarantee that students will get shortlisted for an interview. The departments shall use additional criteria for scrutinizing the applications such as academic performance, and ranking in respective national level tests like JGEEBILS / JAM / NBHM / JEST) etc. Therefore, the final selection of candidates is based on the student’s performance in the interview. Students must have passed a master’s degree or equivalent with 60% marks to be eligible for IISER Pune Ph.D. admissions. Also, students must have qualified national level examinations such as CSIR-UGC NET/GATE/JEST/NBHM/JGEEBILS, etc depending on the candidate's research interest. Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the interview.
IISER Pune Application Process for B.S. and M.S. Dual Degrees
Step 1- Visit the admission portal of IISER for BS-MS dual degree- www.iiseradmissions.ac.in
Step 2- Interested candidates must click on the ‘eligibility’ tab and check if he/she is eligible to apply or not.
Step 3- Click on the ‘apply tab’ to start the registration process.
Step 4- IISER Pune application process is a two-step process: registration and application.
Step 5- First, fill out the registration form and then the application form.
Step 6- Upload the documents and pay the required fees.
IISER Pune Application Process for Integrated Ph.D. and Ph.D.
Step 1- Visit www.iiserpune.ac.in/admissions/. for eligibility requirements.
Step 2- Fill out the application form (online applications are accepted)
Step 3- Carefully fill and submit the IISER Pune application form on or before the last date.
Step 4- Upload the required documents and pay the application fee.
IISER Pune UG Admissions
Indian Institute Of Science Education And Research offers BS and MS dual degrees for undergraduate admissions at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research. BS-MS Dual Degrees are offered in the specializations of biology and mathematics. Physics, Chemistry. IISER Pune UG admissions are offered via KVPY, SCB, and JEE Advanced channels of admission.

IISER Pune UG Admission Process
• Candidates can check all the updated information such as eligibility criteria, application date, etc on the official admission portal of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research- www.iiseradmissions.ac.in for BS-MS dual degree admissions.
• The Joint Admission Committee commonly known as JAC is responsible for managing the IISER Pune UG admission process.
• Eligible and interested students can apply for admission by filling out the application form at www.iiseradmissions.ac.in.
• Students applying for admission to BS-MS dual degree must note that they can apply via three channels only: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Basic Science Stream, State and Central Boards, and JEE Advanced.
• KVPY channel: Students with valid KVPY fellowships are offered direct admission.
• JEE Advanced channel: Students must secure a rank within 10,000 (general category) in CRL of JEE Advanced.
• State and Central Boards- Applying via this channel candidates have to appear for the IISER Aptitude Test. It is a computer-based test consisting of 60 multiple-choice questions, conducted once a year in an online mode.
• Shortlisted candidates have to attend counseling. It is to be noted that counseling is held separately for each channel of admission.
• Merit and choice filled by candidates during the application process will be the key factor in the seat allotment process.
• After a seat is allotted to a student, he/she must report to the allotted venue/center for verification of documents.

• Students who are interested in being admitted to the Integrated Ph.D. at IISER Pune must visit- www. reserpine.ac.in/admissions/int-phd-program. to check the eligibility requirements.
• Eligible candidates must fill out the application form and pay the application form fee.
• Candidates who have applied for admission or want to must note that filling out and submitting the application form does not guarantee that he/she will get shortlisted for interviews. It is upon the respective decision of departments. They can use additional criteria such as academic performance, and ranking at the national level of examinations such as JGEEBILS/JAM/JEST/NBHM, etc for screening of the applicants.
• Shortlisted candidates will be intimated about the interview via email only and students must check the official website for periodic updates.

IISER Pune Admission Process for Ph.D.
• Candidates must meet the general eligibility criteria for Ph.D. admissions at IISER Pune.
• Fill out and submit the application form.
• The selection process of candidates is different and depends on the research areas: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Earth and Climate Science, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
• For Ph.D. in Biology, eligible candidates must have any one of the following qualifications: qualified a national level eligibility test such as CSIR–JRF / UGC–JRF / DBT–JRF–A / ICMR–JRF / DBT–BINC–JRF / Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship / Maulana Azad National Fellowship / National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students by CSIR-UGC / National Fellowship for Higher Education of ST Students / National Fellowship for OBC Candidates / National Fellowship for persons with disabilities (NFPWD), qualified JEST/GPAT (rank holder to 500), or NBHM, INSPIRE Ph.D. Fellowship, rank up to 200 in GATE, qualified JGEEBILS.
• For a Ph.D. in Chemistry, eligible candidates must have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) with VALID CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF, INSPIRE-PhD fellowship or CSIR/UGC NET-LS or GATE.
• Candidates shortlisted after the screening process have to attend the interview(s).
• It is to be noted that only shortlisted candidates will be notified of the interview via email and candidates must check the official website for updates.
• The final selection is based on the candidate’s performance in the interview.
