Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants are required to have completed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with a Science stream.

IISER Mohali BS-MS Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected through various channels, and the marks obtained in the 10+2 boards will also be taken into consideration. The selection channels are as follows:

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Channel:

KVPY scholars are granted automatic admission to the BS-MS program.

Those with KVPY fellowship starting from 2020-21 can apply for admissions.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) Channel:

General Category Candidates ranking within the top 10,000 in the common rank list (CRL) are eligible.

Reserved Category Candidates (OBC-NC, SC, ST, PD) should have a category rank within 10,000.

State and Central Boards Channel (SCB):

Students applying through this channel must take the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).

Students who pass the 10+2 examination with a science stream are eligible for the IAT.

Applicants must be Indian nationals or students belonging to the PIO or OCI category and must satisfy the eligibility criteria to apply. A merit list will be prepared based on the results, and seat allocation will be done accordingly.

How to Apply to IISER BS-MS?

Candidates are required to visit the IISER admissions website and click on the "Apply Online" option. On the registration page, they should provide basic personal details and generate an OTP. After entering the OTP, candidates need to submit the Captcha displayed. Subsequently, the application number/User ID and password will be sent to the provided mobile number and email address.

After receiving the credentials, candidates can log in again. The next steps involve filling in personal details, qualification details, and document uploads, which are categorized into three tabs on the application page. After completing these sections and uploading the necessary documents, including a photograph and signature, candidates should enter the captcha text and confirm the declaration by checking the checkbox.

By clicking on the "Click here to fill the Application" option for the SCB Channel, an application number will be generated. The same application number/User ID can be used for KVPY and JEE (advanced), and a new ID will be generated accordingly.

Candidates must then specify city preferences for the IAT test center and select IISERs in decreasing order of preference. Upon clicking the submit button, candidates will be directed to the payment gateway. General/EWS/OBC/OBC-NCL/KM candidates are required to pay Rs. 2000 + transaction fee, while SC/ST/PD candidates should pay Rs. 1000 + transaction fee. Foreign nationals applying through JEE will need to pay a US Dollar 100 + transaction fee as the application fee. It is advised not to press refresh or back buttons on the payment page, and candidates should keep the transaction ID noted down for future reference.
