Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology (IIAT) is one of the Imayam Group of Educational Institutes. This college was started by G.O.MS 140 of Agriculture (AU) Department dated 02.07.2013 of the Government of Tamil Nadu and it started functioning from 27.07.2013 with the admission strength of 60 students per year This college is situated at Kannanur on the ThuraiyurNamakal Highway, six kilometers away from Thuraiyur Municipality. It is well connected by roads and the nearest railway station and airport is Tiruchirappalli, which is 50 km from Thuraiyur.

IIAT Infrastructure and Facilities
IIAT Hostel
Girls' hostel is also provided with a separate cot, bed, bookshelf table, chair, and good lighting facility. A common R.O. water plant is provided to supply safe drinking water. All the girl students are well accommodated in the available rooms. The mess is equipped with modern cooking equipment and the foods are cooked hygienically and served in a clean environment. The hostel is located around 150 meters away from the college and is easily reachable. The girl students in the hostel are taken care of by two women Residential Tutors in the cadre of Assistant Professors. Everyday study hours with a duration of one and a half hours are observed. Two separate buildings are available for accommodating girls’ students with a total area of 11159 sq. ft. The details of the physical facilities available in the ladies' hostel are furnished below.
IIAT Culturals
Inter Collegiate Tournament and All India Inter Agri Tournament TAMIL NADU AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY organized Inter Collegiate Tournament 2022 a state-level Agri sports meet which was held from 01.12.2022 to 06.12.22 at HC&RI, periyakulam (Zone level) and 11.12.2018 to 16.12.2022 at TNAU, Coimbatore. A total of 41 Agricultural colleges participated and from our college (IIAT, Thuraiyur) 89 students participated and won medals in the games. The 21st All India Inter Agri tournament that was held at Chaudry Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana, and TNAU won overall athletics runners-up. IIAT Student M.S. Logeshwaran ( 2021 Batch) Won Individual got Silver Medal (4×100 Relay).
IIAT NSS
National Service Scheme (NSS) Students of our college are actively involved in National Service Scheme which is monitored by the NSS program officer. They are involved in the cleaning of campus and farming activities. It is planned to conduct several awareness programs in all farm-related areas for the benefit of farmers in and around Thuraiyur.
IIAT Computer Center
The campus has equipped computer laboratories with hardware and software to cater to the requirements of the students, teachers, and the curriculum. Computer Labs, faculty rooms, Library, Administration, and Section Office are connected to the WIFI, through high-speed Routers.
IIAT Library
The library is equipped with all the essential books required for undergraduate teaching. More than 4,000 text and reference books are available. Reprographic facilities (printers, scanners, and copier machines) are also available for the benefit of the students.
IIAT Smart Class
A sufficient number of classrooms are available with audio-visual aids for effective teaching. All lecture halls are identical, very spacious, and gallery typeAll lecture halls are well equipped with a public address system, LCD projector with screen, window curtains, podium, and good lighting facilities. The halls can accommodate 120 students easily.
IIAT Physical Education
This Institute lays considerable emphasis on students' participation in various games, sports, and track and field activities. The spacious grounds of the institute are laid out into playfields for Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis and Badminton, Kabaddi, Kho- Kho and Indoor Games, etc., carrom board, chess, shuttle badminton, Table tennis, etc
