The Indian Cane Research Institute (IISR) in Lucknow was established in 1952 by the former Indian Central Sugar Cane Board to study the basic and applied aspects of sugar cane cultivation and to coordinate research on this crop in different states of the country. On January 1, 1954, the Indian government took over the institute from the Indian Central Committee for Sugar Cane. Guest House: 

Occupies an established position in the guesthouse that offers guests a comfortable stay. It has the most modern infrastructure and well-equipped rooms. Pension "Instytut" has six apartments for VIP guests and sixteen air-conditioned double rooms. In addition, three rooms with double beds are available in the category without air conditioning. Room allocation and rent will be charged according to ICAR guidelines. The allocation of rooms in the guest house is based on the order of arrival. However, on official visits, ICAR/SAU agents have priority. Space allocations are generally not limited to weddings and personal events.
