Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar is a fully residential institute known for its academic excellence in India. The institute comprises four halls of residence, one dedicated to female students (Ganga Hall of Residence) and three allocated for male students (Mahanadi Hall of Residence, Brahmaputra Hall of Residence, and Subarnarekha Hall of Residence), collectively providing accommodation for approximately 2000 college students. 

These residential halls offer dining facilities with four meals served daily (Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and Dinner). Additionally, canteens/cafeterias are available within the hostels and across various spots on the campus. Throughout the academic year, a diverse range of recreational, sports, literary, and social activities enrich the hostel life.

Students actively engage in hostel events such as Hostel Day, Diwali, Holi, and other organized activities by the Students Hall Council. During leisure time, students can relax in Common Rooms furnished with amenities like television, newspapers, magazines, and libraries, or access PCs for browsing books and the internet. 

Each hostel is equipped with comprehensive Gymnasiums featuring essential facilities and outdoor sports arenas including basketball, badminton, and volleyball courts, and dedicated spaces for music and dance.  High-speed Gigabit Ethernet connectivity links individual hostel rooms for academic and research purposes. ATM centers are conveniently located within the hostels or on the campus. Furthermore, 24/7 ambulance services, along with the continuous availability of doctors and pharmacists, ensure immediate medical attention for emergencies.
