IIT BHU offers the final selection through JOSAA Counselling based on the rank obtained in JEE Advanced. Only registered candidates can participate in the JOSAA Counselling process. Candidates are allotted seats in seven rounds of JOSAA Counselling. The seat allotment depends upon the choice of course and college made while registration.

IIT BHU B.Tech+M.Tech Selection Criteria The selection of the candidates is based on the JEE Advanced Rank followed by JoSAA counseling. Seats are allocated based on rank in JEE Advanced, availability of seats, categories, and other factors. IIT BHU Offers Final Admission to the Candidates based on the GATE Score of the Candidate and the Performance of the Candidates in the Entrance Exam Conducted by the Institute.

1. IIT BHU shortlists candidates based on valid GATE/NET/GPAT/CSIR NET or UGC NET JRF scores. 
2. These shortlisted candidates are then called for a written test followed by an interview. 
3. Candidates qualifying for CSIR NET/UGC NET JRF are offered IIT BHU admission through an interview on the same date of application. 
4. The following candidates are exempted from written tests: Sponsored Registration, Full-time External Registration, Part-time registration, and candidates with National Level Scholarships.
