Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is a public technical university located in Hauz Khas in South Delhi, Delhi, India. It is one of the oldest Indian Institutes of Technology in India. Established in 1961, was formally inaugurated in August 1961 by Prof. Humayun Kabir, Minister of Scientific Research & Cultural Affairs. First admissions were made in 1961.[5] The current campus has an area of 320 acres (or 1.3 km2) and is bounded by the Sri Aurobindo Marg on the east, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Complex on the west, the National Council of Educational Research and Training on the south, and the New Ring Road on the north, and flanked by Qutub Minar and the Hauz Khas monuments.

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is set up in 1961 as the College of Engineering. The campus spread over an area of 325 acres. These alumni nowadays work as scientists, technologists, commercial enterprise managers, and entrepreneurs. The campus has well-furnished, clean, and air-conditioned hostels. The Institute has a total number of 14 hostels, 11 for boys and three for girls. The boys’ hostels are Nilgiri, Karakoram, Aravali, Jwalamukhi, Satpura, Zanskar, Kumaon, Vindyachal, Shivalik, Girnar and Udaigir and girls hostel in Kailash and Himadri Hostels. The campus facilities like the indoor game, reading room, and 24* power backup. they have also provided mess facilities with hygienic food.

Library:

The campus has a well-maintained and air-conditioned library. They have well-stocked books subscribed to 690 current journals and a rich collection of books on Science and Technology 1.94 lakh books, 1.03 bound volumes of journals, more than 26,000 standards, and more than 2,200 microfilms 2,261+. The campus has also incorporated video cassettes, CDs, and online electronic journals.

Auditorium:

The campus has a big seminar hall well furnished, clean and air conditioner. They are equipped with an LCD Projector and Audio System. The Seminar Hall organized seminars and organized lectures for the students.

Sports Facilities:

The campus has provided sports facilities like volleyball and basketball courts, athletic tracks, a swimming pool, weightlifting and taekwondo auditoriums, badminton, and tennis for students.

Cafe/Mess Facility:

The campus has a cafeteria. There are many shops, such as Amul, Lipton, Nescafe, and Cafe Coffee Day in the campus area.

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Admission

The admission process at IIT Delhi is highly competitive and rigorous. For the BTech program, candidates are admitted based on their performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced and subsequent JoSAA counselling.
