Indira Gandhi College of Education was established in the year 2009. It is approved by NCTE and affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University. The college was started by eminent educationalists and philanthropists with a view to serving the various sections of society by providing them with quality education. The college was started with the aim of imparting quality teacher education to rural students who are socially and economically weaker in our society. The institution functions under the renowned A.C.T Educational and Charitable Trust and seeks to empower students to meet educational challenges boldly and effectively in a globally competitive arena.

This college has a sufficient number of classrooms and laboratories. All classrooms are sufficiently ventilated with sufficient lighting facilities and required furniture. In addition to chalk and blackboards, smart classroom facilities have been provided.

Seminar / Conference Hall:

There is a seminar and conference hall in the B.Ed class with video and audio arrangements. It has a seating capacity of two hundred and fifty students. There is a board room to conduct the meeting of the managing committee. Students' profile are documented, maintained, and updated by the class in charge and monitored by the Principal. Each class in charge takes care of their students and meets them periodically. The class in charge analyzes the students’ progress in education and takes immediate action thereon.
