The INTERSCIENCE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT & TECHNOLOGY (IIMT), Bhubaneswar is known for academic excellence, research contributions, executive development program, and industry interface. We at INTERSCIENCE believe in ‘Kaizen’ which means never-ending efforts for improvement involving everyone in the organization – teachers, students, and staff alike. I must mention here our last year’s activities and achievements. We conducted Bharat Operating System Solutions (BOSS) Workshop on 27.03.08 in association with C-DAC, Mumbai followed by National Seminar on Globalization and Manufacturing Competitiveness sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi on 05.07.08 – 06.07.08 and National Seminar on Business Intelligence sponsored by IT companies on 09.08.08 & 10.08.08. The institute has also organized an Induction Training Programme and a Staff Development Programme (SDP) on Optimisation for Management & IT Teachers sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi in its maiden year itself.
We became a collaborating partner of Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Ahmedabad in September 2008 to provide Open Learning Programme on Entrepreneurship leading to a one-year Diploma. we became an institutional member of the European Case Clearing House in April 2009. We started a new online International Journal “Journal of Corporate Governance Research” from Macrothink Institute, USA, where the Professors of the institute are working as Executive Editors and other editorial board members. In the first year itself, we nominate our students to attend various national events at various reputed institutes. To mention a few, a team of four students attended International Conference on Innovation in Redefining Business Horizons held at IMT Ghaziabad on 18-19 December 2008. Another team of five Students attended the 6th International Conference on E-Governance held at IIT Delhi, 18-20 December 2008. A team of nine students participated in the Entrepreneurship Summit, one of the biggest Entrepreneurship Events in the Eastern Zone organized by IIT, Kharagpur. A batch of 30 students attended a one-week training program on Share Trading and Portfolio Management at the Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange. I am proud to say that our student team won second prize in the national level ‘Business Plan Competition in CURA 09, organized by NIT, Warangal during 6-7 February 2009. Another team also won First prize in the state-level Quiz competition conducted by National Productivity Council (NPC) State Centre, Bhubaneswar. In the first year itself, the institute arranged Summer Internship Training in as many as 28 companies.

Library

The INTERSCIENCE Learning Resource Centre strives to evolve as a model and leading technical academic resource center since its inception. The collection of INTERSCIENCE Resource Centre Comprises Hybrid Resources (print & electronic) in the field of Business Administration, Project Management, and Information Technology which includes: 25 Journals of national and international repute, more than 5000 books in various fields, 100 projects books and the Resource Centre has a good number of CD-ROM databases, audio-visual materials, access to E-Journals and E-books in order to serve the faculty and students of the Institute.

Computer Lab

The institute has a state-of-the- art computer center with over 100 computer systems. The computer-to-learner ratio is amongst the highest in any institute in the country. The entire campus has a Switch-Based Local Area Network (LAN) operating on Windows 2000 and XP. The learners can work on various platforms such as Linux and Windows XP. High-speed network laser printers, scanners, and CD writers support the systems.

Placement Cell

IIMT placement cell is proactive in identifying job opportunities for PGDM students by keeping contact with reputed firms. The Placement Cell functions throughout the year to facilitate interaction between companies and our students. We invite HR Managers from various companies annually for HR Meet and to conduct training programs for our students. This opportunity facilitates our students to understand the practical aspects of their learning in the program. On invitation, many industries visit the institute to conduct interviews. Our alumni have set benchmarks in the corporate world through their contributions and we will continue that legacy in the years to come.
The Placement Cell organizes career guidance and personal counseling program for all the students from the beginning of first year. Various Lab activities such as Corporate Readiness Lab, Business Communication Lab, are conducted to enable the students to face the Interviews, Group Discussions and also give exposure to appear the competitive exams. IIMT has an Institutional long-term membership in National Human Resources Development Network (NHRDN) and Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD) for this purpose.
