Institute of Open and Distance Education, Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya was set up under the name of the Department of Correspondence Courses in 1975. The university was accredited ‘B’ grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in 2015. The institution takes pride in its ability to provide a large number of courses at the Graduate and Post-graduate levels. Although the institution provides courses on a large variety of streams, it is especially well known for its courses on MA and PG Diploma.
The Institute for Open and Distance Learning, Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, was founded in 1975 as the Department of Correspondence Courses.
