Jagannath Barooah College is an independent college located in Jorhat, Assam, India. The college was established on 19 August 1930. The college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University and recognized by the University Grants Commission. It was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India in 2003.

In total there are 26 laboratories equipped with the latest techniques and equipment in various departments and their area  is 17,253 square meters. In addition to them, the university has several computer laboratories, 1 geospatial information laboratory, 5 darkrooms, 1 thin film laboratory, 1 nanoscience laboratory, 1  digital film production studio. 

Hostel

Hostel options for both  boys and girls are limited in the college, currently there are  62 and 66 places respectively. The application form for admission in the hostel can be obtained from the office of the higher education institution and sent to the relevant office assistant after  admission in the inn higher education institution. The  list of candidates is finalized by the director in collaboration with the college. You cannot book a place in the hostel before joining the university. Inns are closed for the summer holidays. Those admitted in the hostel must follow the hostel rules of J. B. College.
