Jagiroad College (the erstwhile Kapili Anchalik Mahavidyalaya) was established on 8th August, 1979. The College is located at Jagiroad, a gradually developing semi-urban conglomeration of Morigaon district of Assam, at a distance of barely one hundred meters from the National Highway 37.

Jagiroad College, Marigaon is affiliated with Gauhati University. The college is approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Computer Center: 

The college has four state-of-the-art computer labs (including  computer center and language lab) with 46 computers for conducting PGDCA, Post Graduate Level and other  courses for short-term students. All labs are configured with two UPSs connected to the grid. Windows XP, Windows 7 and Ubuntu operating systems are installed on the computers in the laboratory. The computer center was built by the Government of Assam  under the ICT program and Amtron implemented the project. It has 20 Linux-based computers, one laser printer, one flatbed scanner with parallel storage capability, and a grid-connected UPS backed up by a diesel generator in case of power outages. Ethnic Museum: 

The educational institution has a unique national museum developed, which is located in the extended part of the Central Library. A new museum building is being built in front of the central library with the financial support of the Tiwa Autonomous Council.

The college has installed  solar power  to provide uninterrupted power supply to the entire campus. There is also a generator for quick backup of the electrical system.

The university administration has introduced digital classrooms with smart boards in six classrooms and one seminar room  to facilitate modernization and smooth teaching-learning.

The college offers students a quiet outdoor seating area in its grounds, shaded by trees. Green grass is also ready for outdoor learning. The annual debate between JCSU's official competitors is an attractive event traditionally held each year on the turf covered lawn.

NCC unit of Jagiroad College  is an active cadet unit. Cadets attend Annual Training Camp, Army Fusion Camp, Combined Annual Training Camp, National Integration Camp, Sainik Camp, Republic Day Camp etc.
