The Society started “Jamal Mohamed College of Teacher Education” in the year 2007-2008. The College offers a B.Ed., a programme with the approval of NCTE and affiliation from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli with an intake of 100 students. Now, the college is affiliated with Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai. The College is functioning in a separate building constructed with all infrastructural facilities, State-of-Art Computer Laboratory, a library equipped with a rich collection of books and well –equipped with a rich collection of books and well-equipped subject laboratories.

JMCTE Library

The library is the heart of Educational Institutions. The main aim of the library is to provide the right documents to the right users at the right time. Our library is a vast ocean of knowledge interspersed with different pearls of well-stocked books, Educational Journals and CDs. Our library is stocked with 5700 B.Ed. books. To supplement this knowledge our library has a depository of 15 journals, EBSCO and N-List Database of the full-text journal with E-Books, Encyclopaedia, Dictionaries, Year Books and new pearls in the form of new books are added frequently. Along with this, the library offers services of interlibrary loan to avail the rich reservoir of knowledge from other libraries.

THE KHAJAMIAN HOSTEL (FOR MEN)

The Khajamian Hostel is one of the biggest hostels in Tamil Nadu. The hostel has 9 blocks and can accommodate about 2200 students. The amenities like a Visitors' Room, Library, Reading Room, Clinic, Cafeteria, Ironing Room, Television Room, Prayer Hall, Auditorium, Multipurpose Hall, Guest House, Internet Browsing Centre, Play Ground, Canteen, Generators and Public Address System are available in the hostel premises, to facilitate the inmates and stakeholders.

THE WOMEN HOSTEL

The College is running an exclusive hostel for women students which is situated inside the college premises with all infrastructure facilities.

JMCTE EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

The educational technology laboratory is well equipped, with an LCD projector, digital camera, overhead projectors, and slide projectors.

JMCTE BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE

The biology lab helps the students by providing general knowledge of the basic principles of biological systems.

JMCTE PHYSICAL SCIENCE

The physical science lab makes the students understand the use of technology with the help of new innovations.

JMCTE TRANSPORT

The College provides transport facilities for the women students at nominal rates. About 15 college buses help the students to commute to the college from various places in Tiruchirappalli City. The College operates buses for the convenience of women students from the TVS tollgate to our college campus.

JMCTE ICT Resource Centre

Computers are not something alien any more, rather they are a way of life. No successful manager of an entrepreneur can survive without fully utilizing the potential and speed that is given through computerization. That is why Jamal Mohamed College of Teacher Education has created the most optimum and advanced computer centre. All the computers are connected via a Local Area Network. The hardware configuration of the computer centre is Intel Core Dua 2 processors equipped with the latest version of the software and provides internet connectivity round the clock to students on a totally cost-free basis.

JMCTE Physical Education

The aim of Physical Education is the same as that of general education because physical education is a part of general education. The primary aim of physical education is not to develop star athletes winning teams or expert performance but to a national vitality with character values and physical fitness. Ministry of Education National Plan of physical education and Recreation expressed that the aim of physical education must be to make every child physically, mentally and emotionally fit and also to develop in him such personal and social qualities as will help him to live happily with others and build him up as a good citizen.

JMCTE Multi-Purpose Hall

The college has a multipurpose hall of area of more than 3060 sq. ft. It can accommodate more than 250 people at a time. The multipurpose hall is equipped with modern furniture and sitting arrangement for 250 people. It has a permanent public address system, mikes, recording facilities, projector system etc.

JMCTE Office cum Administrative Room

College Administrative Office: is furnished with highly configured systems with printers. The office is well connected with internet and Wi-Fi, and a Biometric system to monitor the movement of the staff.

Separate Staff room facilities are available for both Gents and Women.

JMCTE Art & Craft Facilities:

Art and Craft can be an extremely efficient medium to teach students the skill required for creative, innovative and organized team activities. We provide resources like various kinds of paints, canvases, cloth and clay for making props for drama shows. Glass paintings and collages are to be prepared by students. These resources are utilized for the skill development of students and teachers and others. Extracurricular and creativity are also developed. All the making art and craft aids is displayed in our particular classroom and college wall. All equipment that is a set of woodworking tools, raw materials and equipment for all doll making, materials for the preparation of charts, raw materials and equipment for dress designing, materials for the preparation of models, stationery goods, tools like scale, and clothes is available.

JMCTE Performing Arts Facilities

Performing art is a form of art in which artists use their voices and/or their bodies, often in relation to other objects, to express his/her opinion, emotion, and feeling by means of performances such as theatre, music, and public speech. Performing arts may include dance, music, opera, theatre and musical theatre, magic, illusion, mime, spoken word, puppetry, circus arts, performance art recitation and public speaking.

JMCTE Report of the Visit

The Student – teachers along with their staff visited the Innovative Schools in Trichy on 27-11-2019. They visited the Government High School for the Blind, students Intact Special Saathanur and Dollar High School for Deaf, Ponmalaipatti. The student–teachers learnt the different learning and teaching methods of the differently-abled school students from the teachers and also by viewing the live teaching and performance of the students

Training and Placement Cell at Jamal Mohamed College of Teacher Education

The Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for B.Ed. students passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed schools and college establishments. The Placement Cell operates around the year to facilitate contact with the school. The number of students placed through campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries visit the institute to conduct interviews.
