With the aim of providing a systematic education in art and architecture that meets the current needs of Jawaharlal society thru the University of Architecture and Fine Arts were established by the State Legislature of Andhra Pradesh  No. 31 of 2008. Library

The library used the virtual software package VTLS  for library automation in 2006 and switched to open source library management software "NewGenLib" in 2015. The library has automated all cleaning operations and developed the library database. The library database includes all books, back issues of periodicals, CDs/DVDs, current journals, and theses/dissertations. The database is accessible to all library users and also through the campus network. Computers are placed at various locations in the LIC to use the OPAC and the Internet to access library resources for academic purposes.

The library has 1522 e-resources such as CD-ROMs, DVDs, Videocassettes, etc on various topics that are available for use by the students and faculty. Computer systems with multimedia capabilities and Internet connectivity are provided to access these digital resources. Facility for individual and group viewing of educational videos/DVDs is being made available in LIC. Details of these resources can be researched using the Computer Catalog.
