The Jayaprakash Institute of Social Change (JPISC) was founded in 1973 (as the Institute of Social Change and Welfare) as a new school of study, research, and training dealing with the concept of development in theory and practice.  Since its inception, it has implemented multidimensional and diverse programs in urban and rural areas to bring about action-oriented change in micro-societies.
