Admission 2023-24 at Jagarlamudi Kuppuswamy Chowdary College, Guntur


1. Admissions:

Notification about admission into First year Degree Programmes should be given at least 15 days in advance to the date of the reopening of the college. The last date of receipt of applications shall be 20days after publication of the results of Intermediate. The notification shall indicate the date of reopening of the college after summer vacation, the last date for receipt of applications and the details of courses.

2. Eligibility criteria for admission into B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.C.A. / BBA Programmes

Students who have passed the Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or its equivalent examination recognized by Board of Intermediate Education or Acharya Nagarjuna University are eligible for admission into the First year of Three year Degree Programme.

Students who have passed the advanced supplementary examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. shall be considered for admission, provided the results are published before the closure of admissions and subject to the availability of seats. Students who have passed the qualifying examination compartmentally are also eligible for admission. Such candidates are considered for admission if seats remain vacant.

Students who have studied the qualifying examination in Telugu/English medium need not obtain a minimum of 40% marks in English to get admission into the courses which are offered in English medium only. However, first preference should be given to English medium students. Students who have studied XIIth class of Central Board of Education and who have passed in instant examination are treated as regular candidates.

Candidates who have passed the +2 course offered by the Andhra Pradesh Open School Society (APOSS) or National Open School Society(NIOSS) can be admitted into first year of Three year Degree course. Such candidates should submit the equivalency certificate from the Board of Intermediate Education, AP.

Reservation and allocation of seats for SC / ST / BC / Women (in Co-Education Colleges only) / NCC/ Physically Handicapped / Sports & Games / Children of Armed personnel etc.,

While making admissions in each course, as per Government of Andhra Pradesh rules of reservation 15% of seats have to be reserved for Scheduled Castes, 6% of seats have to be reserved for Scheduled Tribes, 7% of seats have to be reserved for BC-A, 10% of seats have to be reserved for BC-B, 1% of seats have to be reserved for BC-C, 7% of seats have to be reserved for BC-D, 4% of seats for BC-E and the SC/ST/BC category candidates have to be admitted in the seats reserved for them. Seats shall also be reserved as per the Reservation Rules for the candidates under the categories of NCC, Physically / Visually Challenged, Sports and Games and Children of Armed Personnel. Latest Government Orders in respect of the reservation of seats in admission to various categories have to be followed.

A vacancy under SC goes to ST and vice-versa if sufficient SC & ST candidates are not available and the left-over seats may be converted to the Open category.

A vacancy under BC group goes to any other BC group on a merit basis, if sufficient BC candidates are not available and the leftover seats may be converted to OC category. Physically and Visually Challenged (PH / VH) Category

PH/VH candidates should enclose the attested copy of the certificate issued by the Medical Board of the District Headquarters Hospital or General Hospital of a Medical College. The Certificate should indicate the nature and extent of the disability.

At the time of admission, a physically and visually challenged candidate must submit the original PH/VH Certificate. Admission will be made on the basis of the percentage of disability as assessed by the Medical Officer. A physically / visually handicapped candidate will not be admitted into a course if the handicap does not allow him to pursue the course to a reasonable extent. If there is no suitable candidate under PH/VH category, the seat will be filled with a candidate of open category.
