In 1964, at the initiative and initiative of the late Ranadeb Chaudhuri and with the active collaboration of several eminent educators and spiritual figures who formed the first board of trustees of this college, two large buildings on the main street of Prince Anwar Shah Road were acquired as the seat of the college. The buildings have been remodeled to meet the needs of a modern college with every possible amenity for students and faculty. The college began operations in June 1965 as a coeducational institution. The aim of this college was to provide higher education to people from the lower economic strata of society, and this mission is still diligently pursued today.
