The KSG Educational Trust was started on 4th July 1997 with the sole aim of imparting quality education to all the aspirants of the needy poor category in and around Coimbatore. K.S.G College of Arts and Science, situated at S.F.No.93, Kamaraj Road, Varadarajapuram, Upplipalayam, Coimbatore – 641015, adjacent to the ESI Hospital, is an institution of higher learning.

Infrastructure and Facilities

Library:

A spacious library with about 10,000 volumes, subscribing to about 100 journals and magazines is kept open for the students from 8 am to 6 pm. The open access system is followed; students can enter, search and select books physically. Alternately online search and reservation of books are also offered. Five systems are exclusively earmarked for students to browse the internet through high-speed broadband connections. Browsing is open for 24 hours and is free. The reprographic facility is also accessible in the library. A reading room with a capacity of 100 seats is also existing.

The KSG Campus Library has its origin at the main building in the KSG College campus with a floor area of nearly 3500 sq. ft. and emerged in 2002 as a Knowledge Resource Centre mainly to cater to the information needed for the Faculty, Research Scholars, and all Students which help to hub both industries and research institutions globally. Library users have always cherished memories of availing the services of this treasure-house of documents over the past years. The Library has about more than 14,000 books, 1000 reference books, 36 different journals, 34 periodicals, and 55 e-resources and is maintained with the process of modernization, which is to be upgraded with new establishments.

Sports:

To encourage sportspersons, the college is offering concessions in semester fees throughout their course of studies. The College has the facilities for a variety of games including indoor games. A spacious gymnasium with all implements is available both for girls and boys. No student will be exempted from the course of physical training except such students as may have been declared by the medical officer of the college to be unfit to undergo a course of physical training. First-year U.G and P.G students will undergo free medical inspections such as eye screening tests, dental check-ups, blood grouping, general check-ups, etc without fail.

The Department of Physical Education, K. S. G. College came into existence ever since the inception of college in 2001. It has been able to carve out a name for itself among the high achievers in the field of sports and games, mostly by the impressive support it has enjoyed from several quarters, the most important of them being under the University Administration. The Department of Physical Education periodically fosters the students of various departments to coach and participate in the events like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Cricket, Handball, Chess, and Mini Marathon for both MEN AND WOMEN.

Hostel:

A separate hostel for boys and girls with 50 rooms in each hostel is located within the campus. Room rent and tariff for food are very much affordable for the students. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian are served and the food is of very good quality. Farm fresh organic vegetables and mushrooms harvested from our farm are used for the mess. Spic and span environment is maintained. A recreational facility is available.

Computer lab:

One spacious (about 3500 sqft) well-equipped air-conditioned lab housing 400 high configuration systems are located on the second floor to help the students to have individual admittance to the latest modernizations in the computer world. Additionally, there are 3 computer labs each housing 60 systems. All the systems in the labs have High-Speed Broadband connections. LAN connections are also provided.
