The library is the nerve center of any educational institution. It is a source of learning for higher education and the expansion of knowledge. It is an essential prerequisite for the successful implementation of quality higher education programs in the college. Kalyani Mahavidyalaya Library (KML) was set up in the year 2002. It is situated on the second floor of the college wing. At present it occupies about 2500 sq. ft. area and can accommodate about 100 students at a time. Laboratory:

Our institution nurtures seven departments (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Geography) that require laboratory facilities. The furnishing and decorations of laboratories are at par with the scientific standard and safety guidelines as applicable in every subject concerned. Laboratories are equipped with Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Facilities including computers, projectors, and high-speed internet. A permanent whiteboard and screen are there to assist teaching and demonstration in most of the laboratories.

As a part of the internal documentation procedure, all departments maintain separate stock registers of consumables, glassware, and instruments in due format. Departments maintain a complete list of laboratory assets. Regular assessment and monitoring of electrical and mechanical components are done both individually by the department and centrally by the respective authorized body of the college. All high-end instruments of the laboratories are covered under Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) by the college authority.

As a part of fire safety, all laboratories are inspected and accredited by the Government Fire Brigade for fire safety. Working and well-maintained fire extinguishers are installed in every laboratory. A regular fire safety drill and training are done by the local fire brigade. We maintain the biosafety standards in all biology laboratories. All laboratories are equipped with separate waste disposal systems for Biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and biohazard substances.

The College provides energy-efficient classrooms with LED lights, adequate sitting arrangements, large green boards, etc. All the rooms are equipped with big windows with controls temperature and ventilation, and to provide a healthier classroom environment. All the departments are being advised to deliver a few lectures through ICT during the week. The college encourages the faculty to continuously develop skills and knowledge on the latest developments in their respective fields. To adopt new and innovative approaches, the institution has organized a workshop on ICT training and encourages the faculty members to attend such workshops and short-term courses organized by different universities in this regard.

Sports Facilities:

The college owns a picturesque sports ground with natural grass with an area of 1200 sq mt. fully surrounded by protective fencing. The ground can facilitate the preliminary level of athletic events. Moreover, we have a facility to train interested students in Karate as a part of the requirement to enable them in self-defense. As a whole, the institute patrons comprehensive games and sports programs as an integrated part of the curriculum for the holistic development of students.

Cafeteria:

From the very beginning of the College, the College Canteen has been functioning efficiently. The canteen is located inside the College. The canteen provides refreshments to students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff.  The canteen is run by a private contractor who has approved on a competition basis for one academic session. The Canteen is highly hygienic and it caters to the needs of healthy and nutritious food. It serves a range of Indian food and snack items at a very reasonable rate and remains open on all working days from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Food items are prepared with filtered water. Selling harmful things like junk foods, Cigarettes, etc. is a big no in the canteen. The performance of the Canteen is closely monitored by the College Canteen Committee and regular meeting is conducted by the committee and contractor to appraise the function of the canteen. The committee also seeks feedback from the students, teachers, and non-teaching staff regarding food quality, cleanliness, etc.  The menu is decided by the canteen committee.
