The university owes its existence to the late Kandula Obul Reddy's keen interest in the development of technical education in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. To realize the noble ideal of imparting technical education, a technical training institute was established in 1979 at Vempalli in the Kadapa district under the patronage of Sri Kandula Obul Reddy Charities. In 1980, K.S.R.M. The College of Engineering was established to perpetuate the memory of the late Sri. Kandula Srinivasa Reddy, youngest son of late Sri Kandula Obul Reddy. Sri Kandula Srinivasa Reddy, a brilliant III-year mechanical engineering student at Delhi College of Engineering, New Delhi, died prematurely in a scooter accident on October 18, 1979. It was formally inaugurated on 14 November 1980 by the Prime Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri T. Anjaiah,  and began to function in 1980-81. during the academic year.

Central Library 

KSRM College of Engineering has located 7 km from Kadapa city on Pulivendulla road in a peaceful and healthy area of 35 acres. Four multi-storied RCC buildings measuring 26,700 square meters provide accommodation for the wards. Also, the airport is much closer to our college. The college was established in 1980. The library is one of the most important facilities and is well-developed with digital libraries and reprographic facilities. The university's three-story central library Tieto warehouse serves students, staff, and lecturers. The library is so extensive that it can accommodate almost 300 users at the same time. 

Currently, the library has approximately 65,384 volumes and the library is constantly expanding by adding new literature from encyclopedias, periodicals, textbooks, reference books,  national and international journals, and CD-ROMs. In addition, basic literature for new developers is also available. Due to the increasing importance of this wealth of information, it is fully automated. 

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Physical activity is part of general education and is the education that prepares the student to be healthy and strong. In general, we imagine that physical education is only for the development of the human body, ie. the perfect body shape. But physical education is much more than that. Its purpose is to develop the knowledge of the individual to develop physical well-being and prevent physical diseases and mental problems and maintain a good personality. 

Placement

The college has a full-scale training and placement cell whose main objective is to provide comprehensive help and support to students to find suitable jobs. This commitment is evidenced by the presence of a full-time 

Training and education officer.
