Kanyapur Polytechnic Asansol is a vocational school located in Asansol City, Paschim Bardhaman district, West Bengal, India. It is affiliated with the West Bengal State Board of Technical Education (WBSCTE) [1] and accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It provides diploma-level technical training to its students. The foundation stone of that institute was laid in the year 1962 in the suburbs of Asansol by the industrialist Late Shri Sudhir Kumar Sen. Shri Sudhir Kumar Sen was also the founder of a cycle factory known as Raleigh Cycle. Later, Shri Sen founded the Kanyapur Educational Society with the intention of imparting education to the children of that place under which a technical training institute called Sudhir Sen Polytechnic was established on 16 July 1965. At that time, a three-year diploma course in mechanical and electrical engineering was provided. After a few years, this institute offered a four-year license course in Mechanical Engineering (LME) and Electrical Engineering (LEE).
