Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science, Ramtek is a private, un-aided Institution run by Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad established with an objective of providing quality technical education to rural students. The Institute’s foundation stone was laid by former Prime Minister Late Sri P. V. Narsimha Rao on 19/09/1985.

Computer Lab

To cater to the computing needs of the students across the institute, a Center Computing Center(CCC) has been set up. The CCC is accessible to all the students. The center is ICT enabled and has 128 computers supported by 2 dedicated servers. All the computers are connected to a local area network and internet as well as having 200 MBPS bandwidth. KITS library performs this role excellently, with a wide collection of more than 60000 rare and valuable reference books, handbooks whose cost is estimated to be around 1.5 crores, and subscriptions of 150 journals from all over the world including famous publishers like ISTE, IETE, IEEE, ASCE, ASME, etc. library functions from 9.00 am to 10.00 pm.

Hostel Facilities

KITS, Ramtek, being located in a rural area hostel accommodation is planned and provided to meet the demands of the students by the VODITHALA EDUCATION SOCIETY. There are exclusive student residences for both boys and girls separately.

All the hostels are provided with solar water heaters and RO water coolers. Televisions are provided for student entertainment. Also, air-cooled reading rooms provided for both boys & girls. Departmental stores for daily needs are also provided in the Girl's hostels.

Sports Facilities

The institute offers the best of the sports and games facilities to the students which is evident from the laurels brought to the institute by the students. The sports and games activities are held throughout the academic year for both boys and girls. The indoor games complex, built to international standards, has facilities for basketball, badminton, table tennis, caroms, and chess and it has a gymnasium. The institute has a well-equipped 12 and 4-station gymnasium and weight-lifting sets and about 140 students make use of these facilities every day. Apart from this, outdoor games facilities like Cricket, football, basketball, Volley ball, Handball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Lawn tennis and Tracks (200mts) are also available for sports and games.

Gymnasium

KITS, Ramtek believes firmly that a student must be physically fit to take on the challenges of professional education. The institute has always given equal importance to professional fitness, as well as to physical fitness. The institute has a state-of-the-art gymnasium for boys and girls students. The gymnasium has modern fitness equipment like a Training Bench, Dumbbell Set, Barbell Set, Pull-up Frame, Bicycle, and many others. The institute has hosted an annual award titled “Mr.KITS” which is given to the student having the best physique. The gymnasium has an Indoor Wooden Badminton Court, a Table tennis court having three tables, and a basketball court.

Cafeteria

A canteen located on the campus caters to the needs of students and staff. An open-air space with low-grown hedges all around offers a pleasant experience of having snacks etc.

Auditorium

The institute has state-of-the-art well-equipped seminar/conference halls for presentations, training programs, quizzes, and guest lectures and also for clubs and association activities. There are 03 seminar halls and 01 conference hall.

Medical Facility

Medical facilities are provided to the needy through an in-house dispensary. A consultant doctor is appointed to provide the medical aid.

ATM Facility

UCO bank has opened a full-fledged branch in the campus since the inception of the institute. Recently they have provided an ATM facility also.

Placement

Training and Placement Cell is active in conducting training and in placing the students on and off the campus in different organizations and companies. T & P Cell is headed by Incharge – Training and Placement. One faculty from each Engineering Department is deputed as a Training and Placement Faculty Coordinator to manage T & P activities effectively at the department level. Two students from each Engineering Department are deputed as Training and Placement Students Coordinators to communicate T & P activities. A senior faculty member of every department has been allotted one alumni batch to coordinate on a continuous basis throughout the year.
