Aligned with the PTU syllabus curriculum, the Cell orchestrates a six-week industrial training program for students after the 4th semester and a more extensive six-month training during the 7th or 8th semesters. Adhering to the curriculum, students from all Engineering Departments undergo a minimum of 12 weeks of industrial education and a mandatory six weeks of computer training within this six-month instructional period.
KCET Additionally, the cell proactively organizes industrial visits, talks, workshops, and guest speaker sessions across all engineering disciplines during each semester. These initiatives aim to expose students to modern technologies, enabling them to adapt to the evolving industrial landscape. The Training & Placement Cell has successfully established partnerships with reputable companies such as TCS, IBM, INFOSYS, Cognizant, HCL, Sonalikha Tractors, Mahindra and Mahindra, BHEL, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, and others. This has provided our students with opportunities for training and placements, contributing to their overall professional development.
Scholarships and Incentives For the Most Meritorious Students (For Residents Of Punjab)
To encourage merit and to motivate the students Khalsa College Governing Council offers the following scholarships to students who are Meritorious Students of Khalsa College of Engineering & Technology.
SCHOLARSHIP for first-year students (at the point of their entry into college)
(i) JEE Merit 1 to 500 (State rank) 100 percent tuition Fee concession only for the 1st Semester
(ii) JEE Merit 501 to 1000 (State Rank) 50% tuition Fee concession only for the 1st Semester
Based on the 10+2 mark
(i) 95% marks or more than 50 (ii) 90% Marks or above 50 percent Tuition Fee concessions only for the 1st Semester
SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE FOR 2ND SEMESTER ONWARDS:
(i) Topper in the University Exams
(a) 100 percent tuition Fee concession to universities Toppers in each branch of the semester immediately preceding (for only one semester).
(b) (75% tuition Fee waiver to students in the 2nd year of standing in a university branch within the immediately preceding session (for just one term).
(c) 50 50% tuition Fee concession for students who are standing 3rd at a university branch during the preceding semester (for only one semester).
(ii) College topper in University Exams
20% tuition fee concession up to College Topper in each branch throughout the term (for the duration of one only)
(iii) FATHERLESS/ORPHANED/PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED STUDENT
Free ship based on need and performance at college for up to 30 percent of the amount due
(iv) GOVERNING COUNCIL MEMBERS/EMPLOYEES' WARDS FRESSH
(Available only for students of Permanent/Regular employees at any of the colleges that fall under the authority of Khalsa College Charitable Society)
(v) BROTHER/SISTER CONCESSION
The student who is younger pays half the tuition fees.
(vi) Students who pass the 10+2 (plus two)/graduation of Khalsa Institutions and taking admission into post-graduation or graduate degrees at the colleges that are part of the Khalsa College Charitable Society will receive a 10% discount on the total cost in the initial year (entry-stage one year) only. This concession is on top of the concessions already offered to most meritorious students as well as other categories as per the guidelines of the Management.
(vii) Nishkam Scholarship:
The majority of students in the college are supervised and receive merit-based scholarships from the Nishkam Seva Trust, New Delhi. (www.nishkam.org) These scholarships are available only for pursuing professional diplomas, degrees, or postgraduate courses in an affiliated institution/University in India. The term"professional course" includes (but is not limited to) engineering, architecture and information technology medical, computer science nursing, pharmacology, home science education, business management agriculture, animal husbandry, and other similar fields. Students who took part in Class X & XII Examination (Academic year 2019-20) may also apply and pass an exam. Written Test and Interview, however, this scholarship is awarded when they are deemed eligible after gaining admission to an accredited professional course at the institutes. (i) Candidates must score a minimum of 60 percent marks in the last two examinations. (ii) The family's gross amount of income for the student should not exceed a minimum of Rs. 20800/- per month (i.e. Rs. 2,50,000 per annum). (iii) A candidate must have an active email account for communication with Nishkam. The applicant must provide a mobile as well as a different number to ensure ease of communication.
(viii) Student Welfare Insurance Scheme
Khalsa College Charitable Society shall pay the entire college tuition to the maximum of 3,00,000.00 in the event of the unfortunate death of the parent who earns money for students during the period in his education. In addition, it will pay up to 50000/- for the cost of operation in the event of a tragic accident that occurs to students.
Govt scholarship schemes
The College's Scholarship Cell of the college offers assistance to students of the SC/ST/OBC/SC category, J&K students, Girl students, and others to be able to avail of various scholarships offered by the government to help them complete their studies. The various scholarships are as follows.
(1) Pragati Scholarship - AICTE Scholarship Scheme for Girl Child:-
Pragati Award is a state-run scholarship program administered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In this scholarship program, there are a total of 5,000 scholarship awards are distributed each year to meritorious female students pursuing technical studies. A sum of INR 50,000 annually is offered to the recipients of the scholarship each year. For more information about the requirements for eligibility, the students may visit the scholarship office of their college.
(2) Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), Jammu & Kashmir:
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) invites applications for the Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K 2020-21 for students of Class 12 graduates and diploma holders from J&K along with Ladakh. The scheme aims to assist youngsters from J&K who are pursuing higher education in other states. It enables access to an education of the highest quality to students to provide them with the expertise, knowledge, and education for a career at a professional and academic advancement. Students selected for the PMSSS program can receive a scholarship worth as much as INR 3 lakh per year in addition to other grants. (3) SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme:
SC Post Matric Scholarship is an initiative that is sponsored by the central government. It was initiated through the Central Government and is implemented through the state government administration and the union territories administration. In this scheme, financial aid for students from scheduled castes is offered at post-matriculation level to ensure that they can continue their studies without facing budgetary hurdles. This scheme is granted by the government of the state in which the student permanently resides.SC students who are studying beyond 12th grade are awarded scholarships. (4) IKGPTU University Fee Wavier Scheme:
The scheme shall be applicable to all approved technical institutions that offer Bachelor Programs and Diploma Post Diploma Programmes of Three/Four years duration. The waiver will be limited to tuition fees as stipulated by the State Government. Other fees, excluding tuition fees, have to be paid by the beneficiary. Admission will be granted via Punjab Technical University for degree levels in the associated college. Sons or daughters of their parents with annual incomes of less than. 6 Lakhs from all sources will only be eligible to sit in the seats offered in this program.
