King George V, then the Prince of Wales, laid the foundation stone of King George's Medical College in 1906. The College opened its gates in 1911, though the official opening ceremony was delayed to January 1912.
King George's Medical University is more than a hundred years old, but the University is younger, and only 17 years old.
Its success comes from its illustrious alumni spread all across the world, distinguished eminent faculty, and glorious students.

King George's Medical University, Lucknow courses are offered at various levels like Medical Degree (i.e MBBS, Doctorate of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery [MS], etc.), Undergraduate Degree (i.e BDS, B.sc, etc.), Postgraduate Degree (i.e MDS, M.Sc., etc.) and Ph.D. and many more. Residential Accommodation
Separate boys' and girls' hostels with high security are available on the university campus. Boys and girls have two hostels with WiFi services for UG and PG, which can accommodate about 450 students each with good infrastructure. A university van and a car are always available to meet new customer needs. A well-equipped gymnasium is set up for the students of the hostel to develop the physical abilities of boys and girls.
The Library
The treasury of books and periodicals is the center of intellectual activity in each institution. The Central Library works for its readers with a concern for creativity and innovation, predecessors of Research and Development. The general library of our college was established in 2000. It has a well-equipped library that accumulates over 45,024 volumes of selected books in various engineering, management, and basic and general science subjects. The library subscribes to over 143 printed periodicals. The library also has 1,531 bound volumes of periodicals. Audiovisual educational programs and video lessons often take place in the library.
Canteen
It is speckless and maintained very well. It provides good quality fresh Snacks, cool drinks, coffee, tea, and other food items in a hygienic, healthy way that suits the pockets of the student.
Sport
Physical education is strongly aimed at improving the physical and mental health of each player. This results in the development of dynamic personalities. Sports activities and achievements have helped many people get better job opportunities. The clean area with the natural gift of fresh air is an inspiring resource, motivating the player to perform better. Sports carry the same weight as academics. All sports activities are encouraged by making all facilities available when students participate in intercollegiate, intra-college, and other tournaments.
King George's Medical University, Lucknow accepts admission through various entrance exams like CAT/MAT.
There is a vibrant research environment in the University. The University has an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Standard Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliant Institutional Ethics Committee with competent internal and renowned external members. The Institutional Ethics Committee has been registered with DCGI and on Naitik portal.
KGMU always makes an effort to inculcate the habit of research among young faculty and medical students. To promote and support high-quality research work culture and place young faculty, postgraduate and undergraduate students at a position of advantage, the University started an intra-mural seed grant program in 2003.
