Main_blockKings College of Engineering (KCE) was established in the year 2001 by Raj Educational Trust (RET), Chennai, with the singular aim of providing quality education to the poor and underprivileged students of this region. Situated on the Thanjavur – Pudukkottai Highway, spans over 50 acres in a beautiful, serene atmosphere ideally suited for technical education. KCE is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and is. The institute offers five UG and four PG programs. ECE, EEE, and Mechanical Engineering departments are recognized as Research Centres by Anna University, Chennai, for pursuing Ph.D. programs. Departments of Civil, CSE, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering are permanently affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. Our steps are measured and taken with our goal in mind, which is to become a renowned institution where knowledge is a way of life. We, at KINGS, value the Gift of Knowledge but do not put a price tag on it. We remain strong in our policy of “No Donations and No Capitation” and have focused on admitting students of merit. The college has Healthcare facilities available round the clock at the KCE Health Centre which is served by a visiting doctor and a full-time female nurse.

Library:

The College Library has 24063 volumes exclusively meant for academic purposes. Besides these, we have a good Collection (Nearly 2500 Volumes) of Tamil books, Circulated to both student and staff members, with the aim of easing their minds and making them focus on the academy side with a relaxed mood. In addition to that we have palm leaves for display in Library, Stress the point to the student community about how information is passed on to generations from the ancient period. We have been subscribing to three e-journals packages IEL, ASCE, ASTM, and Springer (mech). We have been subscribing to Seventy-Four national journals. We have been a member of Delnet and the British Council. Our Library gives enough backup to all academic activities, aimed at improving the standard of students as well as staff members. Our Library environment creates an ideal climate for students and staff members to carry on research activities which are further enhanced by the Research and Development Department.

Sports:

The College All work and no play, has never been good for students, filled with a youthful zest for life. So, Kings College provides a floodlit Basketball court, a wooden-floored Indoor Shuttle court, Volleyball, Tennis, and Ball badminton courts, a full-size Cricket ground with top-end kits, Football and Hockey play areas, and a Table tennis room to explore and develop the sporting skills of our students.

I.T Infrastructure:

The College Center has 400 systems LAN connected to BSNL Broadband dedicated leased line with 60 MBps (1:1) The center provides scanning and printing facilities. The center is accessible to both staff and students.

Cafeteria:

The College cafeteria with modern facilities is available within the campus and is open for staff, students, and visitors. A brand new 12,000 sq. ft canteen block has been built to tackle the increased demand due to an increase in the number of students and also to improve the seating comfort of the mess hall. The modern kitchen utilities available at the cafeteria help reduce the time taken to prepare each meal and also to serve it hot.

Transport Facility:

The Colleges buses are well-connected to all major areas of Thanjavur and its surrounding regions. Whether sufficient demand exists and no public transport is available, the Colleges are willing to provide transport. All the teaching and non-teaching staff can avail free transport facilities.

Wifi:

The college campus-wide wireless computing network is in place that allows faculty, staff, and students to log on to the Internet at any point in time. The Internet lab powered by dedicated leased lines (up to 2mbps) is open for students even after college hours to help them spend extra time making use of the abundant information available on the Internet. This facility is available free of cost.

Faculty : 

All the faculty in my college are ME graduates with a Maximum of 20 Years of Experience and a Minimum of 5 Years of Experience. All of them are highly qualified and interested in teaching a Particular Course.

Placement: 

Many companies came to my college for placements cells and more than 400 students out of 500 in last year students selected placements. In many companies like Honda, TCS, CTS, etc.
