Library Resource Centre

The college has a well stocked spacious library with a wide collection of more than 12000 books and 60 journals of well known authors and renowned publishing houses. The library is kept open on all working days from 8:30am to 5:00pm.The library is set up with a goal to keep the students ahead of their counterparts by providing them with ample resources on the campus so that they can supplement their course work with additional informations.The students enjoy access to text book, reference books, national and international journals, CD’s floppies, videos besides many newspapers, magazines, career oriented publications etc.,

The operation and the activities of the library are fully computerized and automated. The computerization includes details of holdings and circulation such as accession number, book title, author’s name, edition number, year of publication date of purchase, price of the book, name of borrower, date of issue, date of due, number of books borrowed and fine for delayed returned.A Book Bank it maintained to help the deserving candidate. Internet and e-journal facilities are also available.

Reprography

Separate reprographic facilities are available for photocopying of question papers, journals, articles and other printed materials.

The library is provided with a photo copying machine to enable the students to get copies of reading materials.

Student Housing Services

The residential concept at KEC Boys and Girls Hostel is to create a home away form home condition to the maximum extent possible. This is done with the intention of providing the students with the most conducive atmosphere to pursue their studies.There are spacious, airy and well ventilated separate hostels for the women students - the RAJAMMAL LADIES HOSTEL and the men students - the DURAISAMY GENTS HOSTEL, located inside the college campus with reading rooms, indoor and outdoor games facilities. Each room has attached bath / toilet and separate study space for each student. The hostel atmosphere gives opportunity to enhance social circles and closer bonds of friendship that promotes success in life. The KEC hostel attracts students from all districts of the state and from all states of our country. The hostels norms are framed keeping in mind the local culture and traditions to guide and help students attain standards of impeccable conduct. College Mess

The new spacious full fledged state of art Rajammal Duraisamy college mess for Days Scholars can accommodate up to 600 students at a time. The Hostel Boys and Girls have separate dining halls with a seating capacity of 250 each.The college Mess provides a gourmet and nutritious food at a nominal rate for the, Hostellers – breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner on all days.Days scholars – breakfast and lunch on all working days.Palatable vegetarian and non vegetarian foods are served with utmost care.Diet lunch would be served for sick students.

Power Supply

The college is well supplied with uninterrupted (24 x 7 hrs.) Electricity by 100 KVA transformers. For ad-hoc capture power generation having 125 KVA diesel generator sets with a total capacity of 125 KVA caters to the emergency needs.

Medial Aid Centre

A compact Medical Aid Centre functions in the college campus. It is equipped with a few beds and a full time qualified nurse to attend to the immediate needs and to mobilize patients to the Hospitals on emergency

Departmental Stores

The departmental store in the campus caters to the daily needs of both staff and students. Eatables, stationery, educational aids, common medicines, toiletries etc., are made available for the hostellers and day scholars.
