The K.J.Somaiya Medical College was founded in 1991 by Padmabhushan Late Shri Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya and has grown to be one of the best in the country, with consistently excellent performance of its students in both academic and co-curricular spheres.
The K. J.Somaiya Medical College is a private medical college owned and operated by Somaiya Medical Trust and is located in the Somaiya Ayurvihar complex in the heart of the city of Mumbai. The Medical College sapling has grown over the years and now has a multitude of them qualified and experienced professors and resident doctors working in 21 well-equipped departments.

Residential Accommodation
Separate boys' and girls' hostels with high security are available on the university campus. Boys and girls have two hostels with Wi-Fi services for UG and PG, which can accommodate about 450 students each with good infrastructure. A university van and car are always available to meet emerging customer needs. A well-equipped gym is established so that the students of the inn develop the physical ability of boys and girls. They also have indoor play facilities. A hygienic mess is attached to the hostels.
The library
The Central Library works for its readers with a concern for creativity and innovation, predecessors of Research and Development. The general library of our college was established in 2000.It has a well-equipped library that accumulates over 45,024 volumes of selected books in various engineering, management, and basic, and general science subjects. The library also has 1531 bound volumes of periodicals. Audiovisual educational programs and video lessons often take place in the library.
Sport
Physical education is strongly aimed at improving the physical and mental health of the individual player. This results in the development of dynamic personalities. Sports activities and achievements have helped many people get better job opportunities. The clean area with the natural gift of fresh air is an inspiring resource, which motivates the player to perform better. Sports carry the same weight as academics. All sports activities are encouraged by making all facilities available when students participate in intercollegiate, intra-college, and other tournaments.
