It has got AICTE and the Govt. of Orissa approval and is affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) Rourkela.

Each student is allowed to issue 6 books so that they do not need to spend money on purchasing the reading material.

KIST provides full transport facilities for the students. The College runs Buses for the students who live in Bhubaneswar, Khurda & jati to ply the students from their convenient places as scheduled by the college administration. All the students availing of the transport facilities will have to pay a suitable fee as decided by the college administration. KIST has its buses.
