Koshys School and College of Nursing established in 2003 is now proudly known as Koshys Institute of Health Sciences. The Nursing Education program in Koshys began with General Nursing & Midwifery program in 2003 and added up to Basic B.Sc. Nursing and PB.B.Sc. Nursing to upgrade the diploma nursing students. As a response to the demands of the profession, M.Sc. (Nursing) also started in the year 2010. Affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science. Recognized by Karnataka Nursing Council & Indian Nursing Council.

KCN LIBRARY- “LITERARY CLUTCH”

Koshys Institute of Health Sciences library is recognized for its explicit range and quality of services it offers to students. Our library functions with the dictum “Books are for use and not for preservation". With access to thousands of books, tailored to the needs of the academic programs, that's exactly why the spacious library at KIHS is aptly called as the Information Centre. We have an Audiovisual section which houses an extensive range of CD ROMs, audio & video tapes and computers. In addition, the facility has access to many international and national journals in various disciplines of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. Students can access the facility from 09.00 a.m. to 07.00 p.m. on all working days and have access to the Internet. With a convenient reading area and sections for a large collection of reference books, theses, project reports, encyclopedias, national, international, and RGUHS journals, e-books, and e-journals under the HELINET Consortium.

KCN HOSTEL

As a pure residential institution, Koshys Institute of Health Sciences has separate hostels for both boys and girls. The rooms being clean, comfortable, and well-furnished, offer beds, wardrobes, and study tables and chairs with adequate bathroom facilities ideal for students which makes them comfortable altogether. The hostels are provided with all basic facilities including water purifiers, Laundry options, and recreation activities. Adequate and hygienic Mess facilities are available for all hostellers. Hostel disciplinary measures are maintained with adequate actions.

KCN CHAPEL/PRAYER HALL

The Chapel and Prayer hall is a quiet place, where students can find a space to pray or meditate. Recognizing the need for solace in prayer and spirituality, our chapel and prayer hall give our students just this. This facility is available for all within the campus itself. Irrespective of the religion one can enter into the chapel and spend time for meditation.

KCN SPORTS UTILITIES

Our campus has various game fields for practice and competition for both Indoor and Outdoor. We have a well-maintained natural football turf for the students to play during sports hours and the hostel students play after their college hours. We conduct Inter department and Inter-Collegiate tournaments. The “Ganador Soccer Event” is a trademark of the Koshys Group of Institutions and is played every year in a grand and professional manner. Koshys is equipped with a well-cemented and concreted basketball court built for practice and organizing matches. We also have a Volleyball and Throwball court where the students play during their sports hour and the hostel students practice as well, even new learners begin playing the game after college hours in the evening. Kabaddi court for kabaddi players and Long and High jump pits are also available for the students. Students not only play during sports hours they also practice and train to participate in Inter College and Inter-University championships. For Indoor games, we have an Indoor sports room where there are facilities like Carrom boards, Chess and Table Tennis are available for practicing and playing. We have two badminton courts for the badminton players to practice. Indoor games and tournaments are also conducted for the students and for Employees.

KCN ADVANCED SKILL LABS

Advanced skill labs aim at teaching and training students the essential advanced nursing skills. The nursing practice laboratories at KIHS provide for both skill practice and patient-specific preparation in all specialties. The Labs provide hands-on learning experiences specific to course objectives as directed by the nursing curriculum. The Lab contains advanced mannequins and equipment pertaining to the Healthcare profession. At scheduled times teachers prepare the students for practice in the labs by guiding them in each skill. The labs have an abundance of resources and equipment to enhance student learning. It supports the student's learning with skill practice and the development of critical thinking. The skill lab clearly defines the learning outcomes against each activity being demonstrated. Ultimately, they develop strong knowledge and skill based on rehearsal and practice along with repeated performance and debriefing by teaching staff.

KCN STUDENT NURSES ASSOCIATION - SNA

The Student Nurses Association is a nationwide organization that aims to reap the best nurses by sowing the seed right from the student period. The association strives hard for the upliftment of students through professional, educational, and extracurricular activities. Student Nurses Association, a unit of Koshys Institute of Health Sciences is registered under the TNAI state branch. The students are divided into 4 groups namely Asklepians, Athenas, Aphrodites, and Hygeas, these groups uphold the sense of Unity and Enthusiasm among the students. Various cultural activities, sports, and health day celebrations are conducted under the SNA umbrella.
