Kammavari Sangham, a non-profit volunteer organization, was founded in 1952 with the sole purpose of providing charitable services to the community and society. Sangham has diversified its business since its inception over five decades ago. Firmly believing that only quality and meaningful education can lay the foundation for economic and social change in the lives of thousands, Sangham founded educational institutions around, beginning with KS College of Technology in 1992.

Sangham, delighted with the success of his foray into technical education, founded the K.S. College of Engineering and Management (KSSEM) in 2010.

The School of Engineering and Management campus, located in a quiet area on the main street of Kanakapura, offers good facilities required for quality technical education.  The strength of KSSEM lies in a good vision; a dedicated, experienced, and well-qualified teaching staff; the installation of the most modern equipment in the laboratories, and the interactive relationship established with industry; all with the energetic support of an outstanding board of directors. KSSEM offers five undergraduate courses, namely Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Technology, Electrical Engineering and Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering.  It also offers an M-Tech degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's in Business Administration.
