About State of Karnataka Remote Sensing Applications Centre (KSRSAC), Bengaluru
The State of Karnataka Remote Sensing Applications Centre (KSRSAC) was established in 1986 and was designated the Nodal Agency for implementation of Remote Sensing(including Photogrammetry) and GIS programs within the State as per the Government order No. ITD 28-MIS (2002), Bangalore dated 06.08.2002.The order further states that "The Nodal Agency will be the repository for data, information and maps gathered through the Centre or anyone else, including Government Department, Statutory Board or other undertaking through GIS or Remote Sensing.
Karnataka State Remote-Sensing Applications Centre (KSRSAC) has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

To act as the nodal agency in the state for all Remote Sensing and GIS activities To co-ordinate the remotely sensed data requirements of the state To act as a repository (data bank) of satellite data and other databases relevant to the State departments To assist user departments / organizations / agencies/ academia/ enterprises in the implementation and evaluation of remote sensing applications
