Kuvempu University, Directorate OF Distance Education (DDE), Shimoga University Library came into existence with the establishment of Kuvempu University on June 29, 1987. Till then it was functioning as a Post-Graduate Centre Library under the control of the University of Mysore and the library resources were housed in a temporary building at B.R.Project. In the year 1988, the library was shifted to the academic building on the Jnana Sahyadri campus. Finally University library was shifted to its own newly constructed modular independent building in the year 2003. Amid its excellent setup of academic activities, the library acts as a nerve center catering to the academic and research needs of the students, the researchers, and the faculty members of post-graduate departments, covering Science, Social Science, and Humanities, engaged in the higher pursuit of knowledge. Kuvempu University Library has been shaped as a center of excellence, for academic and research pursuits by keeping itself open to the changes brought in by information and communication technologies.

WiFi Facilities

Kuvempu University campus is well equipped with LAN and WiFi facilities.

WiFi facilities are provided to all the buildings including Hostels, Guest House, Auditorium, etc.

University has 80+ secured WiFi devices through which WiFi can be accessed.

Computer Centre

Admission

Kuvempu University, Directorate OF Distance Education (DDE), Shimoga Directorate of Distance Education (KUDDE) offers 40 programs in various disciplines at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Duly recognized by UGC-DDE, all the distance education degrees offered at KUDDE are equivalent to regular degrees. At the undergraduate level, programs like B.A., B. Sc., B. Com, BBA, and B. L. I. Sc. are offered. At the postgraduate level, KUDDE offers M.A., M. Sc., MBA, and M. L. I. Sc. KUDDE also offers a one-year postgraduate Diploma in six different areas of study.

1. Undergraduate applicants should have completed their 10+2 examination while postgraduate applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

2. Barring MBA, admission to all programs at KUDDE is based on merit in the qualifying examination. 

3. For an MBA, applicants need to qualify for an entrance test.

4. Admission at KUDDE is an online process.
