The National College of Physical Education, Lakshmibai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala was established in 1985 as a government educational institution to provide higher education to build a career in management, humanities, and teaching.  Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education is authorized by the famous NCTE and affiliated with KU, Thiruvananthapuram. The leadership of the National College of Physical Education, Lakshmibai, Thiruvananthapuram works under Dr. G. Kishore(Director). 

Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), Kariavattom, PO Thiruvananthapuram is part of the Academic Wing of the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The college is affiliated with Kerala University and aims to serve as a model institution for teacher training by offering undergraduate and postgraduate/research courses.  In addition to the academic programs, the university runs SAI sports training programs in various disciplines. It offers excellent conditions for raising the level of physical education and sports in the country. The 50-hectare landscaped site includes playgrounds, gymnasiums, a swimming pool, a velodrome, hostels, staff quarters, and an administration building with classrooms, laboratories, a meeting room, and a library.
