“The Laljibhai Chaturbhai Institute of Technology, Bhandu (LCIT) represents a shared vision and a collaborative effort of Mr. Bhogilal Laljibhai Patel and his team of committed professionals and family members. This vision began to take form as early as 1978 when the present Chairman Mr.Bhogilal Patel decided to open social service centers and educational institutions in his native place Valam, a tiny village, nestled in the milk district of Mehsana in Gujarat State of India. Several years later in 2002, the LCIT was established close to this village to actively pursue and make this vision a reality.

Library

The Library was established in 2002. It has completed nearly seven years and has built a large collection of books, Journals, and Audio-visual Resources. It caters to the needs of large groups of users including more than 2500 students, 185 faculties, and supporting staff. It has computerized all its housekeeping activities using LIBRARIAN – library Management Software that is being maintained and updated regularly. Library has subscribed to access ScienceDirect Online Package through INDEST-AICTE Consortium.

Internet Connectivity

The institute has arranged for a dedicated, wireless 50 Mbps radio link for high-speed Internet access round-the-clock so that the students remain updated with the latest developments across the globe. They also collect a lot of material for their project work. Every faculty and technical staff is given access to the Internet.

Workshop Tools

All the engineering students are required to undergo workshop practice during which they have to use various tools which are generally required to be purchased by the students. To relieve the students from purchasing and carrying all the necessary tools, the institute provides all the tools along with an apron in the workshop at a nominal charge.

Hostel Facilities

The Institute provides hostel facilities separately for boys and girls. The boy’s hostel has a capacity of 400 and the girl’s hostel has a capacity of 100. The capacity of the hostels is being augmented to accommodate more students. Further information can be obtained from the hostel office.

Student Store

The student store provides all the required stationery to the students at a reasonable cost. In addition, the PCO and Xerox facilities are also available in the store. The store also has a Book Bank facility.

Canteen

The canteen on the campus serves fresh and hygienic food products.

Insurance Coverage for Students

While the institute takes all precautionary safety measures to avoid any accident during college hours particularly while they are performing experiments, the students are covered under the Students Safety Insurance Scheme of New India Insurance Company with a yearly premium of Rs.10/- only.
