Loknayak Jai Prakash Institute of Technology, popularly known as LNJPIT Chapra, was established in 2012 by the Government of Bihar under the Department of Science and Technology. The idea was to respond to the growing needs associated with the growing technical demands of our modern life. Spread over an area of about 45 acres on the banks of the river Ganga, the college has become one of the best new engineering colleges in Bihar. Currently, the college offers a 4-year undergraduate degree in engineering in four different disciplines: Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering with an annual intake of 240 students. All courses are affiliated with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Delhi.

LNJPIT, Chapra has a well-equipped centralized computer center to cater to the needs of the students and faculty of the university. It is housed in an excellent state-of-the-art building with dedicated laboratories that provide various platforms and computing environments to UG students. LNJPIT, Chapra Computer Center currently has around 70 LAN-connected computers spread over two floors providing internet access and programming facilities to all the software-related laboratories of the college departments mainly CE, ME, ECE, EE, and CSE department. All academic buildings of LNJPIT, Chapra, library, administrative block, residences, and all hostels are connected by optical fibers and around 95 Wi-Fi hotspots.

The LNJPIT library is a fully air-conditioned building with adequate infrastructure to meet the needs of the students. It has an extensive collection of many texts and references, among other resources. The main objective is to provide world-class service to its users by providing various books, magazines, newspapers, magazines, and other related materials.

LNJPIT Admission

Admission to LNJPIT for B. Tech courses is done based on the marks obtained in the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (B.C.E.C.E), which is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. The student must also appear in screening as well as the main exam of B.C.E.C.E.

LNJPIT Scholarship

The Institute provides scholarships to students of SC, OBC as well as ST categories. The institute also offers the AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme. It provides financial help to 1000 specially-abled students for pursuing technical education each year. Students can avail of a scholarship of up to INR 50,000/- per annum.
