Longowal Polytechnic College started in the year 1986 under Lala Wazir Chand Charitable Trust was established by the management of the great vision and far-sightedness of the Late Sh. B.B.Katyal. Smt. Kanta Katyal is the honorable Chairperson of the Trust. LPC was started with the purpose of allowing raw youngsters to equip themselves for employment.

The training and placement cell of the college is headed by Ms. Sakshi Katyal - B.Com, MBA(HRM) - Gold Medalist, UGC(NET) Qualified with many years of experience in HR/HRD related activities tasks. Students are apprised on a continuous basis through seminars and workshops etc. about higher learning opportunities. It has the privilege of providing placement to the students in the pre-final year itself. Job fairs are arranged by the cell for the students. The placement officer is assisted by placement coordinators both faculty as well as student coordinators from various departments. She invites representatives from various companies for campus recruitment.
