We have an updated library that houses all contemporary media and allied industries’ handbooks, reference books, and academic journals. Creative Lab:
We are well-equipped creative labs for its students. The lab houses more than 80 computer systems loaded with various media software. We have licensed software lies Adobe Premier Pro, Hootsuite, slide model, Hubspot, and Vimeo. Students design newspapers, create graphics, and organize advertisement campaigns using the software. We have created a simulated newsroom in the creative lab. It gives real-time experience to students. Students have no restricted entry in creative labs. Students can spend their best time for creative purposes.
Newsroom:
Our newsroom is no less than the news studios of mainstream news media. An air-conditioned newsroom has a makeup and dressing room, teleprompter, high-end mike, and camera set-up. It is a newsroom set up with chroma. Students are encouraged to learn the usage of teleprompter and record news bulletins. The room next to the studio has a television set up for students to view live streaming. The timetable has been designed to encourage students for optimum usage of the newsroom.
Reading Room:
As a media institution, we believe that our students must be updated and informed about global affairs to develop their worldviews. As media is the first draft of history, we inculcate reading habits from the very beginning. To nurture this habit we have set up a dedicated reading room where students read national and regional multilingual newspapers and international magazines.
Recording Studio:
We have well equipped, fully air-conditioned recording studio. A studio consists of audio recorders, and computer-aligned voice modulation, with installed editing software. It has audio input and output devices.
Admission to MIT ISBJ is based on the MIT NAT entrance exam conducted by the institute every year.
Candidates applying for B.A. must have passed 10+2 to be eligible for admission. The minimum eligibility to apply for M.A. (JMC, & CC) courses is graduation in any stream.
To apply for an M.A. (Business Journalism), candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Economics.
Students will have to appear in the MIT NAT entrance exam to be eligible for admission.
