Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET) Pune is a critical part of the renowned MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions with its 40 years of legacy in quality education. MANET has produced 3000+ merchant navy officers who are working with various renowned international shipping companies. More than 200 marine engineers and deck officers are working as Chief Engineers and Masters of ships at an international level. The institute ingresses 300+ students in these two courses through its entrance exam IMU CET. The college is known to provide excellent placements and thus 2000+ cadets have been placed in top shipping companies in India and other foreign countries

Courses Offered

Maharashtra Academy Of Naval Education And Training courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Marine Engineering, Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Marine Engineering (Lateral Entry), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Residential Accommodations:

The college has two separate hostels for girls and boys. The hostel has recreation centers, indoor play areas, TV screens, and Wi-Fi and laundry facility available for the student.

Hostel Discipline

1. Cadets must not keep large amounts of cash in their possession or in the hostel.

2. Cadets must remain in the hostel in proper uniform at all times. They are not to loiter in towels or sleeping suits.

3. Cadets cannot bring any type of vehicle (two or four-wheeler) inside the premises of the institute.

4. Cadets will use the recreation room etc. only at specified times as instructed by wardens on duty.

5. Cadets will take their meals/tea etc. in the dining hall and during specified times only.

Library:

MANET Pune Library serves as a resource center under the Norms of ISO 9001-2015 and aims to develop a comprehensive collection useful for faculty members and cadets of the institute as it provides an efficient dissemination of information.

Library Rules & Regulations:

1. Library will issue 2 books to a cadet for 7 days and will be reissued depending upon their demand.

2. A fine of Rs. 5/- will be imposed per day per book on any cadet returning an overdue book.

3. Library has a separate reference section; wherein books are strictly for use towards I-cards.

Faculty

The institution is run by marine engineers and naval officers along with some professors. There are many cells that are undertaken by these professors for a hassle-free stay of the students during the course like the anti-ragging cell and women’s grievances cell.

Gymnasium

The institution focuses on the physical well-being of the students and hence has two gymnasiums with high-quality types of equipment and well-trained instructors.

Sports Facilities:

The sports facility at MANET is spread over 40 acres of area. With a view to growing a holistic personality, MANET gives equal importance to sports. It is our constant endeavor to see cadets grow intellectually as well as physically. To facilitate this, we have developed our own sports grounds with a volleyball court, football ground, cricket pitch, basketball court, lawn tennis ground, Olympic-size swimming pool, rowing node, kabbadi ground, jogging track along with indoor sports hall with facilities for yoga, table tennis, carrom, chess, badminton, best physique (fully-equipped gymnasium with gym instructors) and a boxing

Cafe/Mess Facility:

The institution has a mess inside the hostel that provides nutritious and healthy food to the students.

Admission

Admissions to the Naval Sciences courses are based on the merit rank of the IMU CET entrance exam. The candidates for both B.Tech and B.Sc. courses are selected on the medical exams and relevant selection criteria.

Scholarships

The college provides two scholarships, one being an Entry-level scholarship and one specifically for girls.
