Campus

The Institute has its building in the city of Ahmedabad with a built-up area of 11,500 sq. mtrs. with an architectural grandeur of its own designed by the well-known Architect Mr. B. V. Doshi. It is situated amid pleasant surroundings with many renowned educational and research institutions of the city in its neighborhood.

The Institute has excellent infrastructural facilities for holding Seminars and Training Programs: at national and international levels:

1. An air-conditioned Auditorium with a capacity of 200 seats.
2. Two air-conditioned Seminar Rooms with a capacity of 50, and 25 seats.
3. Nine air-conditioned classrooms.
4. A well-furnished hostel with 28 General rooms (double bed) and 4 VIP Rooms, with A.C., TV, and Sofa.
5. An Open Air Theatre.
6. A canteen with modern amenities.
7. Air-conditioned computer Laboratory.
8. A well-stocked library with books on various subjects, journals, films on industrial safety, and video cassettes on communication and management.
9. Adequate administration and faculty wings with appropriate facilities.
10. The institute has also audio-visual Equipment like LCD, Entel Megamonitor, Conference System, TV, V.C.R., Slide Projector, Overhead Projector, Film Projector, Tape Recorders, and other misc. instruments.

Institute Infrastructure

Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute has been conceived as a place of learning in various disciplines, gathering experiences from various countries.

It is set in a plot of 11,500 sq. mts. of land amidst a chain of low-rise reputed Institutes of learning and residential colonies. The building of the Institute has grandeur of its own without the overwhelming presence of a monument.

Shri. BalKrishna Doshi, an eminent architect of international repute, has designed the building as a continuity of spaces where people can meet and exchange ideas and experiences. With a series of overlaps, its vertical and horizontal directions, it has a certain fluidity that changes shape in the form of classrooms and seminar rooms, library, exhibition hall, amphitheater, auditorium, courtyards, and gardens.

Library

Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute’s library is an essential component of the Institute. The Library of M.G.L.I. came into existence in 1980 when the institute was established. It was established to disseminate knowledge on Labour and related areas according to the needs of Govt. Officers, Faculty members, Research Scholars, Staff members, and Students. The size of the collection as of 31st October 2015 is 22000 books. The library also subscribes to periodicals and magazines. It has a rich collection of documents, which includes books, periodicals, reports & non-book materials, etc. M.G.L.I also have my publications which are available in the Library.

Hostel

A well-furnished hostel with 28 General rooms (double bed) and 4 VIP well-furnished A.C. Rooms. Hostel and cafeteria facilities are available on the campus of the Institute. Hostel Rooms are allotted only to Research Scholars, Academicians, State/Central Govt. officers, and reputed NGOs, at the rates fixed and rules framed by the Institute.

Seminar Room

MGLI is a place for research and the exchange of ideas. The generating ideas emerge as free-hand sketches on loose pieces of paper or notebooks. The institute has 3 Air conditioned, well-furnished seminar rooms with audio-visual facilities. These seminar Rooms are generally used for holding seminars, workshops, training programs, conferences, colloquium, etc.

Auditorium

An air-conditioned Auditorium with a capacity of 200 seats. With facilities for audio-visual aids for presentation etc.
