Mahendra Engineering College was started in 1995 by Shri.M.G.Bharathkumar, a renowned educationist and philanthropist with the noble intent of educating the underprivileged in the Salem and Namakkal districts. The college is an Autonomous Institution and an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution. The College offers 14 Undergraduate and 9 Postgraduate courses in Engineering. Here the students are offered an unparalleled state of infrastructure and extremely committed and dedicated faculty that employs innovative learning techniques to create a highly conducive environment. The technical knowledge gained by the students is complemented by imbibing interpersonal skills and a spirit of entrepreneurship that makes them competitive enough to face global challenges and emerge as achievers. Library:

“Library is the heart of an Institution” - Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Former President of India. The Mahendra Engineering College has established the Central Library in 1995. The Central Library moved to its new building in February 2012. The Mahendra Engineering College (Autonomous) has a Centralized Library & Information Centre with a carpet area of 17029 Sq.ft., with a total seating capacity of 250 persons. It is located on the ground floor of the Library Block. In addition to that Departments have their own Department Libraries.

Sports:

The Department of Physical Education is housed in the indoor stadium. It is headed by the Physical Director Mr. Moorthy who is a postgraduate in physical education, assisted by the Physical Director Mr.S.Sathish a postgraduate in physical education, and Mrs.S.Nirmala Physical Directress, a postgraduate in physical education, who takes care of the girl students. Indoor games like Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Carom, Volleyball, and Table Tennis are played in a well-maintained room attached to the physical education department. The indoor stadium is established at accost of Rs1.5 crores and is an asset attraction for the playing community.

Hostel Facilities:

Separate Hostel facilities are available for Boys and Girls. The Hostel provides accommodation for all needy students. The rooms are furnished with a Table, Chair, Cot, and Fan.

Canteen:

The College has a spacious and airy Canteen. It provides a variety of wholesome, tasty snacks and food at a reasonable price. The Canteen also provides packaged snacks items, bakery products, and soft drinks to the taste and requirements of not only the students but also the staff member

Bank:

Banking services to staff and students are provided by Union Bank of India Mallasamudram Branch through an on-campus extension counter functioning between 12 noon and 2 p.m. on all working days. An ATM Counter is also installed inside the campus by the Union Bank of India Mallasamudram Branch for transactions around the clock.

Transport:

The College has its fleet of transport to pick up students from Salem, Erode, Namakkal, Tiruchengode, etc., and covers almost every important location situated within a radial distance of 55 KM. The College is presently using 45 buses out of 150 buses owned and operated by Mahendra Educational Trust.

A 1-Gbps dedicated Internet connectivity is provided to all the departments through the local area network, which provides the opportunity for all to stay in touch with the latest Information.

This service is provided throughout the normal course of study by instructors and the Training and Placement Cell Coordinator. This team will help each student with a detailed job search during the last phase of the program. Since companies are looking for serious employees, grades and class attendance have a great influence on the success of the job search. Everyone's best efforts are important to reach the goal. Training and Placement Cell will help in this search, but cannot guarantee employment.
