The Majlis Arts and Science College is a multidisciplinary institution affiliated with the University of Calicut, approved by the Government of Kerala and recognized under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. Beginning with at least four programs in 1995, it achieved a prominent position as one of the largest self-funded universities in the country. The main university, operated by the AMLI company, which consists of a group of educators and philanthropists, is part of the Majlis educational complex, which consists of a group of educational institutions of different levels, where more than 4 000 students of different ages study groups they become behaved. 

The college is situated on a tree-lined campus and occupies 12 acres of land at Puramannur in Irimbiliyam Grama Panchayath, seven kilometers northeast of Valanchery and 1. 5 kilometers from the Valanchery-Perinthalmanna road in Malappuram district. Received minority status from Ministry of Minority Welfare, Government. India, 15 May 2012. The College celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the 2019-2020 academic year and since its inception has been providing quality, values-based education, prioritizing the rural community with the aim of helping social and economic empowerment of backward and marginalized people. 

The college currently has more than 2,300 students enrolled in 16 undergraduate and seven postgraduate programs nationwide, including highly career-oriented programs such as multimedia, mass communications, visual communication arts, travel and tourism, microbiology, and various complementary courses.

The digital library provides access to over 6,000 online journals and 2 lakh e-books via the UGC N-list and thousands of open-access journals and databases. NDL access is also promoted in the college library. The Digital Space (D-Space) integrated into KOHA offers digital copies of questionnaires and various electronic resources. 

Hostels: 

The Moulana Azad Women's Hostel, run by the College, offers accommodation and meals for female students. Students who do not study full-time and are not supervised by a tutor must be accommodated in a dormitory.
