Engineering & Technology Campus was established in 2010 and offers degree courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Science Engineering. M.Tech courses are available in Computer Science and Electronics branch. The campus is located at the western tip of the Malabar Coast, Kannur District, State of Kerala, bordering with Karnataka-Kerala Highway, MAHE (districts of Pondicherry State), Kasaragod, and Wayanad and is in close proximity to major cities of Kannur, Thalassery, Koothuparamba, and Mahe. The campus spans an area of 218 Acres of a single piece of a lush green single plot of contiguous landed property at Anjarakandy, Kannur District.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Central library:

The well-facilitated and spacious Central Library, which quenches the thirst of knowledgeable seekers, has a voluminous collection of books on science and technology, personality development, and career guidance, as well as national and international journals, magazines, newspapers, and periodicals and a number of reference materials that help eager students. This well-set excellently cataloged Library is always kept open helping the students and faculty to utilize the library to the fullest. It gives an excellent ambiance for learning.

Residential Facilities:

Exclusive hostels for boys and girls, with a homely ambiance, inside the Campus. The avenues of trees and green plants give a resort-like atmosphere that is highly conducive to pleasant learning and peaceful living within the Campus.

Transport Facilities:

To facilitate the transportation of students and staff of this institution bus services are provided to Kannur, Thalasseri, and Koothuparambu. These services are very much helpful to the students and staff for their journey to and from the college and various industrial visits in connection with the curriculum. The students are issued identity cum Bus Pass during the admission process.

Seminar Hall:

Seminar halls which can accommodate about 150 students are available for each department on the campus. They are well-equipped with multimedia projectors and audio systems. Events such as small meetings and intra-department level seminars, workshops, etc. are organized here.

Auditorium:

Several meeting halls equipped with ultra-modern audio-visual and recording devices have been provided where faculty, staff and students organize weekly and monthly meetings for sharing knowledge and exchange of ideas. An air-conditioned Auditorium, with a seating capacity of 1000, is housed at the Medical College building. In addition, there is an amphitheater with a seating capacity of 3,000 persons.

Sports:

There is a Gymnasium with all the latest equipment. There are facilities for indoor games like shuttle badminton and table tennis. Separate grounds for playing football, basketball, and volleyball are also available.

Placement

MIT facilitates students’ placements through the Training and Placement Cell. The Placement Cell gives information about employment opportunities and makes information available about higher education in India and other countries. It provides an interface between academia and Industry. It is our endeavor to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between the students and the industry. The placement unit provides a platform for placement where companies are invited to recruit students of various specializations and work experience. 

Admission

Candidates for admission to the B Tech degree courses shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or any other examination accepted by the university as equivalent thereto, with conditions as prescribed by the Kerala State Government rules. If sufficient GATE-qualified candidates are not available, selection will be made from Keralite candidates based on the CGPA/aggregate percentage of marks in their qualifying examinations and such candidates have to produce a Nativity certificate."
